Reymond gets moved out which would suck but we could Brick to LB coach and Bebe to DL coach?
Raymond isn't going anywhere. You either move some other staff around, and hire Steele as LB coach...if not that BDP will likely coach the LB's and Shoop will just call plays.

I say we send Peveto packing!

The $400-500k salary sounds right from the estimates I've heard, as does the $1 million mark for a coordinator being a deal breaker. Bob Shoop was one of the bright spots for us this year. Much of our fan base, myself included, feel he was the main reason we got to and won our bowl.
Of course, I want you apes to keep your damn dirty paws off of him, but I would understand Shoop taking the LSU DC job if offered a good raise, and I would legit wish you all luck.

Why is this? I would think PSU has plenty of money in its coffers to keep a top notch DC.

I imagine it was like pulling teeth to pay the dollars for Franklin, let alone trying to compete with the SEC for assistant pay as well. To be fair to the AD, Penn State has one of the highest number of total sports in the country. Then the other factor is, we got spoiled as hell with the men that wanted to work for Paterno, and never wanted to go anywhere else. Please see: Tom Bradley, Larry Johnson, Sr., Ron Vanderlinden. Please do not mention any other former Defensive Coordinators

It's no contest. This would be the HR hire. 3 straight Top 25 defenses at VANDERBILT! And #2 at PSU last year.
Pay that man. Adding BeBe would make it

This is what I'm thinking. He'd be a home run hire, and adding O to the staff would make it a grand slam.

Anybody know what type of scheme he runs? 4-3? 3-4?Conservative? Blitz heavy?

While the Commodores will feature a 4-3 primary defense, Shoop will also utilize a 3-3, 3-4 or a 4-2-5 depending on the situation and personnel. During games, Shoop will call assignments from the press box as opposed to on the sideline like many coordinators.
"When I watch film, that is the view I have," Shoop said. "It is a more sterile setting. I can have my notes in front of me and I feel like it is most similar to me watching film during the course of the week. It gives me a chance to step back from the action and be a problem solver and decision maker, and hopefully make good decisions and put us in a good position."
Just googled some stuff while reading up on him josh

Buddy...you have got to be one of the best sports I've come across on this board. Coaching situation in jeopardy and you have nothing but kind things to say. Didn't know that people like you exist in here.

I agree. Was thinking the same thing. That guy is absolutely way better than these Aggie fans running around on the board. They make it really hard to read the board sometimes.

Completely Agree, here is something I compiled and posted on the Rant.

Penn States defense was one of the best in the nation in nearly every statistic imaginable, and you have to factor in the talent disadvantage he had while at Vanderbilt and still put up very favorable numbers.
When all the candidates starting leaking he was the one I was most interested in, took the time to make this post so others could understand why.

His defenses declined each year at Vandy.
You can't be serious. Do you understand the talent gap between Vandy and all other SEC teams? This is the type of coach we need. Read some of the articles about him and I think you'll agree.

Yes, thanks for that info. It does appear Shoop's resume easily outshines the other current serious contenders for the LSU DC position.
Any word about concerns Shoop might have about meddling Alleva's contact limitations that were obviously a big factor in Chavis's departure? Let's hope LSU is a solid and strong program like we all know they are that can address any concerns he might have along those lines.

It's actually a perfect fit. Yaw Yaw on the field with the Yale guy in the box. We want the guy to stay around for a few years so maybe we should keep him away from BeBe. Our AD should also give him a 5yr guarantee as a final FU to fat arse Chavis.
Give Brick another raise and cut bait with BDP. All scores settled and we can get back to football.
