Except for the fact that only a fricking retard would believe Jeff Long actually tried to hire Les Miles to be the head coach of the hogs. This was a straight up cash grab by Miles. Whether or not it was done with Long's approval is anyone's guess.
Dude, the offer was confirmed by multiple sources inside of the LSU athletic department. LSU had an impromptu press conference that was delayed for an hour, so that they could complete the deal.
The AD himself basically confirmed it when he said (paraphrase) that "You guys won't believe me, but my intention was to give Miles a raise anyway".

The season isn't even over yet.
No, it is not.
At a place that does things the right way and values integrity and honor like tBeacon, we honor the time-tested traditions of not interviewing or offering a coach while the current season is still under way.
There's some unwritten rules and a code of conduct and decorum that are expected to be followed. Only intelligent and honorable men and universities understand this order and way of the world.
So LSU, go get your frickin' shine box.

I would agree with this of theY hadn't put an offer in front of Miles.
This supposed offer would have taken place after LSU's regular season was over, which complies with what I said.

My guess is
That's all anyone is doing right now, we'll find out in a week (again, guessing).

Climb down from that horse Piggy. You're less than a year removed from the ultimate douchebag coach that y'all loved. I don't care who you hire, just stop acting like Arky is the holy grail of coaching opportunities. You're a perpetual middle of the pack SEC West team that can occasionally play spoiler.

Don't be surprised when yall become Arkansas' bitch again when we hire our Capt'n.
I'm still waiting for the first time? Since I mean we have like 9 SEC championships, 3 National championships, and consistently rank in the top 5 over the last 10 years.........
ARKANSAS WILL NEVER MAKE ANYONE THEIR BITCH, EVEN OLE MISS HAS MORE SKINS ON THE WALL THAN YALL IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL.

All these coaches Arkansas wants are playing this weekend. Wait until the season is over.

Yeah I'm surprised at all of these people that do not realize this. It's not that hard to comprehend. Arkansas will hire a good head coach within the next week or two.

Yes, their recent choaching hire history surely suggests that they will.

Whether the fans want Les or not is not what I'm referring to. You are way too focused on that. I don't care one way or another, and I don't care if you have a single ounce of respect for Les Miles.
What is clear though, is that an offer was made...a very significant offer that forced LSU's hand. The money involved was so high, that LSU had to act, even though almost everyone would consider LSU a better job than Arkansas...and even though LSU had already planned to discuss Miles' contract after the bowl game.
And, since we know that the offer was made, that indicates that the Arkansas hiring wheels are in motion. That tells me that their first choice (Patterson) is already out. I'm assuming Miles was their 2nd choice and they were ready to move given that LSU's regular season was already over.
The next guys to be offered will be the ones who end the regular season this weekend. Of those, Gundy and Strong seem to be the likeliest candidates.
What I'm saying is that if Gundy and Strong don't take the job for some reason, Arkansas is going to be on their 3rd tier candidates.

well it's out of my hands, i'm not going to sit here and worry about it- especially not with lsu fans who want nothing more than to bitch us out for us not wanting their coach. (that may not be an accurate description of you, but it's pretty accurate for a lot of people on this board).
i'm not convinced we made an actual offer to les, i'm also not convinced that patterson is out- especially considering we've heard very conflicting stories on that. we should have a coach next week at this time, if we don't - then i might be upset but when everything is speculation at this point, i see no reason to panic or even worry.
