They have had an entire football season to select a new head coach. Most of the talking and negotiating go on in the background. AD's and agents talk unofficially all the time. At least some framework of a deal should have been hammered out with some one by now. Are they waiting for the new guy to play in his conference's championship game? Waiting until after a bowl game loses precious recruiting time. If a deal is done that doesn't concern a conference championship, why delay? And if it doesn't, what does that say about the attractiveness of the job?

and they are getting fricked in the recruiting game as we speak.

it seems impossible for deals to be kept a total secret in these day and times. they are not waiting for coaches to finish bowl games; that ain't how it works as tons of coaches leave after the regular season is over.

so, it appears to me that maybe the job ain't that attractive after all?

lsu isn't playing- just like arkansas- this weekend but there are games. the championship type- for the good teams are left, teams that exceed or live up to their expectations- like i said, not the hogs or lsu.

Nobody said we were waiting until after the bowl season. We said after the REGULAR season, which ends Saturday. Get a grip, get un-:hogsessed:, stop being obtuse, and focus more your :rivalry: with A&M.

This is why I shouldn't have asked. It matters not that our season is over. If the coach or coaches we're looking at still have a game to play we have to wait it out.

I never had understood the mentality that you have to HURRY and hire a coach.

Take your time, make sure you get the right guy. Credit card mentality man.

The recruits are going to stay if they want to stay. What's 3 or 4 recruits MAYBE lost vs getting a shitty coach you have to live with and buy out in 3 yrs?
