Let’s say they hire Freeman. Could it possibly be a situation that Aranda had and give him the “assistant coach” roll or maybe even HCIW

O turns 60 this year and honestly. How many years do you guys see him as HC?

Freeman REALLY wants to be a HC one day.

Freeman should look at the LSU opportunity over a long term.

Sure, he can follow Fickell around for the next few years then wind up in some G5 HC job.

Or he could become the LSU DC, show he can handle big-time competition in the top CFB conference, & write his own ticket. Perhaps even succeed O as LSU HC in a few years.

That plus $2M/yr. to raise 6 kids with should make it tough for him to say no.

You don't give a guy HCIW until you absolutely know you have someone special. HCIW might come after seeing him coach a year or 2. He's not getting that immediately especially when there's still questions if he can even coordinate a defense by himself under Cinc's HC.

assistant coach” roll or maybe even HCIW

HCIW was invented because Bobby Bowden was getting up in age. It's a meaningless term nowadays.

AC is a title that is usually attached to a pay raise. It's a term used to justify giving a coach more money.

It'd be a little premature to attach this title to him.
