40-12 as a head coach.

3-1 in CFP

Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year

George Munger Award

5-2 in bowl games

Paul "Bear" Bryant Award

Linked to LSU head coaching search.

seems like a pretty good dice roll to me.

What was the state of the program when he inherited it? It matters for overall record.

He'd be an outstanding hire. I have Kiffin as 1a and Freeman as 1b.

But there's absolutely no way that he leaves Notre Dame for LSU. He makes $9 million a year, signed an extension less than a year ago, can recruit well, and has an easy path to the playoffs and title game each year.

On top of that, he saw Kelly crash and burn down here and doesn't want to risk making the same mistake when he has it good in South Bend.

0% chance this happens.

Freeman would be such a slam dunk, LSU would be a fricking monster with him. I may even like him more than Lane, but it’s very unlikely we can pull Freeman.

All of this. If he left Notre Dame for the LSU job given all of that, his intelligence should be questioned.

If he still has a wife, that coach will never see Baton Rouge again unless it’s for a home playoff game in the future.

Would be hilarious to pull coaches from ND back to back though.
