I think I've already made a reaction to that,” he said. “Don't you watch ESPN? Don't you see what they put down across the bottom line? That's my reaction to it. I don't have any more reactions to it. I think it's kind of over, so why do we want to talk about that? Can we look forward? I'm looking forward. I made a commitment to the players that are here, and I'm happy to be committed to them. And I want them to make the same kind of commitment to the program and their future success.Nick Saban on Texas rumors again.

"sounds like a good way to kill some time"

I can understand why Texas may want to wait but why on earth would it make sense for Saban to act like everything is business as usual just so he can coach in the Sugar Bowl and THEN decide to leave? If Saban was going to leave it would make sense to do it as soon as possible so that he doesn't leave the school where he's built his legacy in a bind by waiting until a month before signing to leave. If he was going to leave he'd be doing sothis week at the latest so the Kirby Smart could be named the interim coach for the Sugar Bowl.

Just for the record I was on the Saban to Texas bandwagon last week. I'm just trying to figure out a reason that Saban would want to coach in the Sugar Bowl if he was going to leave right after it and I can't see an angle where it makes any sense. If you're planning a move that has been in the works for months you would want to execute it as soon as possible after the regular season is over, not drag it out.

Nope. He's trying to pull recruits and set up Kirby for success to mitigate the damage he's going to do by leaving. He learned from the mistake he made leaving LSU like a little bitch.

"He learned from the mistake he made leaving LSU like a little bitch."

So after learning his lesson he leaves even closer to signing day than he did at LSU leaving the school he's departing even less time to deal with the recruiting fallout? No offense but that makes no sense at all. I could maybe buy him not doing it last week because Mack wasn't officially out yet but it makes absolutely ZERO sense for him to wait until after the bowl game to leave than to do it this week (start of dead period) and to allow Kirby Smart to get his feet wet leading the team as the interim coach.
