Let’s keep it in perspective here

Coaches come here to enhance their resume, not kill it

Saban was a winning coach up at Mich state but never won a bowl game. He came here and won bowls and championships.
Miles won a championship
O won a championship

If Riley comes here, he will win championships- multiple championships.

LSU makes champions out of coaches

Saban was the Defensive coordinator of one of the best defenses in NfL history before he was even at Michigan State.

Saban made LSU.

I would say Riley is a much more accomplished coach than Saban was when LSU hired him. Riley will do great at LSU.

Saban made LSU realize the programs potential and what their expectations should be year in and out.

You did not get into LSU did you? You are one sour little bitch. Does La Tech still have a football program?

How long was he here again?

Give credit where it is due, I appreciate what he did here. Definetaly changed the administrations culture. But LSU was "made" long before Saban and truthfully Gerry Dinardo started the turnaround.

No doubt and that’s part of my point

Riley, a more accomplished coach, will come to LSU and achieve incredible things not just because he’s a good coach, which he is, but because LSU allows for great things to happen.
LSU make mediocre coaches champions.
It’ll make someone like Riley a legend

An element of truth here..

I'm 55...born in 66

We never won a championship of significance until 03...against OU...

Saban brought us the golden years

He awakened the sleeping giant...

And now LSU is ....well LSU...big boy football!!!!

LSU football has three eras.

1) pre saban
2) saban
3) post saban

The pre Saban Era was one championship surrounded by second or third tier status.

The post Saban Era has seen LSU win two national championships with mentally deficient head coaches.

Saban made LSU.

He was DC for the 1994 Browns which did lead the league in points allowed but it is no where close to the best defenses of that era let alone all time. The 1992 Saints for example gave up 2 fewer points and 800 fewer yards than the 1994 Browns.

and LSU made Saban. He needed LSU as much as LSU needed him both benefited.

this is over-simplistic nonsense but par for the course in the social media era where people like you can't comprehend nuance or that there are multiple factors. Monocausal explanations are much simpler and allow for better trolling.

Explain the nuance in LSU being irrelevant until Saban demanded they invest in the program? How many SECCG did they play in before he got there? How dominant were they in the 70s and 80s? How was Curley Hallman part of that nuance?

I wouldn’t say he made LSU but he did get the tigers over the hump.
LSU also enhanced Saban’s reputation

"Good"

At best.

Eta: 5 SEC championships from 1958 until Saban arrived. 5 since then.
