NIL was fine... The unlimited transfer portal was the kill shot.

I thought he had a few more years but I'm glad he's gone

College football just wasn’t the same the last few years with NIL, “collectives,” and the transfer portal. Nobody plays for school pride right now and there’s no loyalty or commitment. I wouldn’t want to be in this business right now.

A winner in all this? Gary Danielson. He’ll never have to be jealous over someone else getting to fawn over Saban

I saw that coming when Saban bought the $18 million dollar house in Jupiter, FL last year.

And he could grab up House for his DC, probably at a good price, too.
With Bamas players House would field a good defense.

Transfer portal window for Alabama players is now open for another 30 days with Nick Saban's retirement.

If this is legit, not sure how much it actually matters for schools on the semester system--the last day to register for the spring has to be soon almost everywhere. Not sure about the ones on the quarter system. This timing could benefit them. But I think most guys will stay at Bama at least through the spring and see who the next HC and staff is gonna wind up being.
