$2 million by August 31st, 2008, and $2 million by August 31st 2011. Remember, Michigan has $85,000+ luxury boxes to sell. Brady Hoke sure as hell isn't selling them. Michigan is cheap...until it wants something. See Belien. $2.5M buyout, negotiated down to $1.5M, and paid.

Last December, Rodriguez agreed to a one-year contract extension through 2013 after he turned down a lucrative offer from Alabama. The extension includes a $4 million buyout clause if he leaves before August 2008. That doubles the amount from the previous contract.

No offense, but not going to Bama was probably a great decision for him.

The buyout was and is not an issue to UM. Depending on the contract RR can play that back in 5yrs. The schools don't buyout the contracts, the coaches do.

Michigan needs to save face or lose a lot more money from boosters. Mary Sue Coleman will get this done if RR is serious about taking job. She hired Kirk Ferentz at Iowa and payed him over 3 million a year.

tell us how you really feel.

If he does go I don't see mallett as a good fit in that system.

no, I'm just joking. I like Saban but if I had my choice...don;t laugh...I would like to see Sylvester Croom at Alabama. I think he is a class act, loyal to Alabama, and has more character than all of these other coaches in the SEC combined. I would let my son play for a man like him in a minute. Also, I am so white I make conan O'Brien look Mexican, so it is not a race thing.

His system is not just spread with a running QB. In the early 90s at Glenville State his team threw 50-60 times a game. From 1997-2001 he was the OC for the Tulane teams under Tommy Bowden and was behind the offense that Shaun King ran and led to the 12-0 season. At WVU he tailored the spread to include a running QB.

Mallett, in a 4 wide shotgun spread with McGuffie in the backfield. Trust me, it will work.

JP Wilson said he would have played baseball if Rod had come last year, so some pro-style QB's are def. weary of him. Of course at this point I bet most bama fans wish jp would have played baseball anyway.

Then he needs to grab a helmet and get on deck as far as I am concerned.

I do to, hell I've lived in Hoover my entire life but he is too hot and cold for me. I am hearing he had girlfriend problems this year. I heard the other day that Rush Propst interviewed for the job in Oxford, AL. I guess we will see. Where in hoover do you live. I live over by the met.

i'm in bluff park...i've heard the same rumors about jp, though i'd hope that wouldn't be enough to make him play that badly.

Nobody has mentioned that the 4 million is dependent on the improvement of certain facilities? Very little done in terms of new facilities = lesser buyout
