Report: Rutgers and Greg Schiano reunion “imminent”
According to a report this morning from NJ.com, the reuniting of Greg Schiano and Rutgers is “imminent,” according to all indications.
The report shares:
“He has not yet officially been hired to his old job, but the deal is at the 1-yard line going in … or closer. Now the parties just need to cross the goal line.”

That's a very good hire for them. Not sure he can recreate what he once built there but it's worth a try for sure.

Coaches who return to their previous school almost never works out.

If there’s any man who can rebuild Rutgers, it’s Greg Schiano. He’s built them up from dogshit before

Yes, though this is surprising.
The original rumor was that Schiano was demanding the current AD (Hobbs) get the boot before he accept the job.
I wouldn't count on Hobbs and Schiano working well together.

Tennessee fans clinging to the bullshite Schiano/Sandusky connection because they're embarrassed that they went all in for Gruden and he didn't even consider them

Any specific reasons for that?
I watched some of the 150th anniversary forum at Rutgers on BTN, and Schiano's name was mentioned a few times, including by Hobbs. It felt like the door was open.

This was our only hope of getting Moorhead out this year. Our AD doesn’t have the balls to fire him after this year but he’s a lame duck heading into next year

Just hire him already. They’ve been saying that shite for 2 weeks now.

Nothing specific, except a lot of innuendo from people in the know - both those "in the know" and genuine reporters with direct access to individuals.
Both Schiano and Hobbs are egotistical bull-in-chinashop personalities, and if they're not on the same page, it could get ugly.

Rutgers needs a HC that can keep the admin from F'ing things up. Schiano has the New Jersey cred to pull that off.
Imo, Schiano could get them competitive with the upper half of the Big-10 within 4-5 years. If he does that, he'll earn every penny they pay him.

There's a lot of talent in Jersey. The right coach could get things going there.
JT is from Jersey as was Corey Clement and Ron Dayne.
