Like I said earlier....that presents a huge “we’ll get you the job if you hire SJ when you come” type conflict of interest.

He wants A&M, but the problem is that he needs to be successful at a P5 job before A&M will hire him. He's a great fallback, but A&M is extremely confident they are getting Fisher.
I guess we will see. I would expect Morris to wait until A&M is filled before accepting anything

Whoever gets Morris will hit a home run. You'll need a good D coordinator as well, but the guy basically invented the offense that 90% of college and high school football teams run.

Not correct--Morris went and visited Gus and learned the offense from Gus. Also, Morris will be the first to tell you that being able to run the football is paramount in order for his offense to work well.
Morris has a lot of upside but his defensive staff or execution needs an overhaul.
I've known Morris for almost 29 years. He wants the job that catapults him to the top, not necessarily a specific team. He will be very calculated on where he goes if he leaves SMU.

Not only that but I'm sure there are plenty of people worried about boosters having the type of control that they did under Freeze. Freeze was hired in part because they knew he wouldn't be able to tell them to frick off like a Cutcliffe or Tubs did.

You should read The Fall of the House of Zeus, it's about Dickie Scruggs' crimes and life. It gives a real good look into how arrogant and insulated that group of characters is. Lots of parallels between that and what has happened under Freeze
