Per wiki Campbell turned down a chance to serve on meyers staff at OSU, declined an interview with the jets, and declined to take the lions job. Don’t think he’s an easy pull.

Campbell would be a solid hire. He’s no grand slam but I remember many posters on here saying he could kill it here seeing what he does at Iowa State.
It would be a B or B+ hire. No sure things out there besides Saban at this point.
Campbell’s stock has come down a bit since their Ny6 win last year.

When this is all said and done we will have been turned down by 10 coaches and end up hiring Broderic fricking Fobbs.
All this talk about LSU being special and unique, a top 3 or 5 job is ridiculous. We're one of about 30 fricking destination jobs in the country, and we're not stealing a coach away from another one.

Can someone actually say why? I think people are just saying this off of gut feeling rather than the facts.
I'm not some Campbell stan but I fail to see what's wrong with him. He's in that same mold as far as young up and coming, proved it at two places already. What more do people want?
We don't want the established coach that's peaked, we don't want this guy that's up and coming, people just want *their* guy.

Campbell was a defensive lineman in college and would presume his specialty is on that side of the ball.
