Rees is not impressive.

If Sloan was the choice why wouldn't they have announced it by now

Internal moves haven’t been made public. Have they announced what is happening with Jancek and Diaco? Both are still on the coaches page of the website next to the new hires. The only things we’ve heard about are when coaches have been hired from the another team bc that is going public either way.

If you were up for a job you were confident you were the best man for and it went to someone else, would you stick around? Pride and ego exists. Very likely Kelly could hire Rees and want to keep Sloan. Doesn't mean Sloan would accept it.

Sloan shows the same promise Reese did at ND

ND fans absolutely hated him as OC.

He was terrible.

I don’t disagree

But Sloan also have to be realistic and understand that the LSU OC job is a major step up that people with his level of experience don’t get a chance at very often

I’d take Rees over Sloan as a schemer and play caller

Saban agrees

First of all Wisconsin didn’t forget how to play run defense and Daniels wasn’t there to boost the run total as he had done all year. Second, the run game coordinator is Davis (OL coach). Execution is was causes a running attack to thrive. If Rees had called that game the production wouldn’t have changed. That gets fixed in the offseason if there’s focus on it.

No.

If Kelly just isn’t going to promote Sloan then he better offer Sloan a big pay raise to stay and find another OC. There are lots better options than Rees if Kelly chooses to hire outside like Grub from Washington.

There were rumors Saban was looking to part ways with Rees. Now, we’ll never know because of his retirement. But he was interviewing coaches.

Maybe but system and familiarity are important to him. You saw that when he tried to bring Rees to BR the first time and then hired his old OC Denbrock

There were also rumors Rees was a candidate for Bama HC

I think the fact that he hasn’t named Sloan yet means he’s talking to Rees. Sloan is someone I would not want to see leave the program because I think he’s too good of a coach and recruiter. Hope BK makes the right choice.

I think us not naming an OC is much more tied to Cortez Hankton and his NFL prospects

First, Wisconsin's defense is NOT bad. The offensive unit was bad whenever Mortecai (QB) wasn't playing. Second, it was Nussmeier's first significant action of the season so his timing and throws were off. Third, LSU's starting RB Diggs barely played due to injury. NEXT!

Seems obvious
So you are willing to risk losing two position coaches who helped develop a Heisman Trophy-winning QB by hiring the obvious choice Rees..Yep, makes sense

BTW Nuss threw for 395 yards in a recent bown game with thise two CO-OCs in his first start

Yes I’m willing to lose two position coaches in order to nail the OC hire.
