I think fans and recruits both forget that they still have the option to wait until February. If you’re unsure about the staff in December, wait until February. The more recruits that do that this year the better our class will be. CBK always hires great coaches.

I don’t like all of his ideas about college football, but Josh Pate from 247 has a really good one for ESD. Move it to August, and have it REALLY early, like we have in college basketball. It should be right before Fall Camps open, when there can be total focus on the guys who want to dispense with the drama before their Senior Years get going.
His ideas are based around making a calendar where there is always something happening in the sport, rather than having so much going on at the same time like right now. Another good idea of his along these lines- only opening the portal to activity at certain times, similar to NFL free agency.
It looks like what is actually being discussed by the NCAA is moving it to early January to give time for coaching and roster moves to settle out before ESD. That’s nice and all, but then you have the two signing days a a little over a month apart, which makes them kind of redundant.

My vote is ESD remain where it is but it is only for early enrollees. Standard enrollees must sign in Feb. That outdoor greatly limit the number of early signees and minimize its impact on coaching changes.
