Only some of us are upset. The others are morons. He’s a great coach/recruiter and Florida is lucky to have him.

Napier hit a grand slam by taking him away from LSU. Not only will this help UF when they want a LA recruit, it also gives UF, arguably, the best DB coach in the country.

He’s a good coach not sure I would use the word great. He is a darn good recruiter though. He’s replaceable but it will be hard.
More importantly I’m not sure what Napier is doing. He already had Jabbar and now adds Raymond. He does realize Florida isn’t the second major university in Louisiana? Does he think he is going to steal every Louisiana recruit? In regards to the coaches he is hiring he will be gone from Florida in 3 years.

Why would he be gone from Florida in 3 yrs? He’s bringing over the coaches that he feels like give him the best opportunity to win. How is this any different from Kelly trying to bring his guys with him from Notre Dame?

Raymond is a fantastic DB coach that UF is fortunate to have. Awesome recruiter who teaches the position well.
At the same time he is a long time tenured coach at LSU that has been here thru all of the culture issues that came home to roost over the last 2 years. It is not fair to put those issues on him…but it doesn’t matter because he was here thru all of it and it’s probably better for the program for guys like him and Moffitt to be gone and reset the whole thing.

are you under the impression we didnt want to keep raymond? i mean i dont think losing him is nearly the big deal everyone is making it, but im pretty sure the plan was for him to stay.

I mean we hired Frank and he took Raymond's title of RC. Clearly that was a factor in Raymond leaving and the decision was made prior to him leaving.

Raymond did a lot of good for LSU but his secondary has been subpar for awhile and frankly the biggest names he recruited in the last few classes quit on him. With a change of scenery I’m sure he will be fine but it was time for a change.
