Figured you guys would like to get a head start on your candidates for 5 years down the road when you're firing the next guy... Dr. Maggard said that previous head coaching experience isn't required, but they have to be from a culture of winning. Said his biggest things to look at will be recruiting and program building.

No one has really said anything about names, but I'd say there are certain names that have to be on the list.

Patrick Toney, current defensive coordinator for Louisiana - young coach, from the Ron Roberts tree. He's done well so far in his two years.

Pete Golding, Alabama defensive coordinator - the old "our players starting following him on twitter rumor."

Brent Pry, Penn State defensive coordinator - used to be DC here back in the day, has family living in the area. Was thought to be a leading candidate last go around.

Rob Sale, NY Giants offensive line coach - was here as "offensive coordinator." A good OL coach and a good recruiter, good ties to the state and relationships with coaches.

The rest of the list is just throwing shite at the wall...

Jeff Lebby, OC Ole Miss
Graham Harrell, OC USC (unemployed soon?)

He examined my prostate but he didn't have a stethoscope.

I'd love Lebby's offense in Lafayette, but I think he has too much Art Briles stink on him to get serious consideration.

Nicholls State head coach Tim Rebowe will be a candidate. He was an assistant to Mark Hudspeth at ULL and has done great things at Nicholls since being hired as head coach there.

This is a big hire to keep the momentum Napier built here going. Gotta trust Maggard will make the right decision. I like the Sale coming back home angle but Harrell seems really enticing

Y'all need to promote from within. Toney is your man.

I guess it’s possible but I think they’d prefer to go younger. Roberts is like 55

He's an up and comer for sure. I'd be surprised if Napier doesn't try to bring him to Florida

Yeah, a couple of guys said that Toney, Juluke, and Hocke were probably the likeliest guys to follow him.
