Put it his way, I prefer to believe that over our coach is such a bumbling, fricking moron that he botched this whole thing so terribly the best hire he could make was promoting a mediocre position coach.

If Haley is promoted, the search was a charade. Miles places personal relationship with his staff very high. Usually that's a good quality, but it can also prevent him from making tough decision and can be detrimental to LSU. Malveto is a case in point.

Doesn't matter what we think. And TAF ain't shite. What matters is performance on the field next year.

Fail.

Anyone who says otherwise is being dishonest. If you ask a bunch of hot chicks to the prom but end up taking your sister......

Depends on the results. I am not ready to call a hire a success or failure until I see some results.

I will admit that I don't know enough about any of the coaches involved to make a really educated statement.

Doesn't seem too good based on previous "promotions from within" (Stud and the co DC's)

Then again, just a few days ago I'm pretty sure I saw more than one person post on here that Haley (especially a Haley/Ogeron combo) was at least the 2nd most desirable option after Pendergast/Ogeron.

So I dunno.

If this hire isn't successful miles is out of a job. I would assume he would want a proven successful dc to help cover his arse.

Well, the rant has spoken very clearly. Miles and Alleva won't see this, but the sentiments those guys do hear are not very likely to be much different, so if they don't have another stealth candidate with strong credentials and from a top-level name brand program with a strong record over a period of time, they are probably getting a bit worried.

This is what blows my mind.

All the local guys are all in on Brick.

I don't get it.

Fail...and a fail to your recruits, current players and other Defensive coaches...this is not why they come to a program like LSU..Go to ULL or SLU for on the job training

DP is the ultimate schil for the LSU staff, once I heard him building brick's case I figured this is where we were headed.

At this point it would be so embarrassing to make a hire we could have (if we were really that confident he could do the job) made a week ago. It would be obvious we were settling for a last resort.

The coaching staff knows Brick better than any other candidate. If Brick were the answer and the confident pick he would be hired already.

Failure. Brick having coached Baylor does not factor in as coaching a defense it was that bad.

Seriously why is Brick qualified as a DC? If alfar worse than Steele ever could be. As bad as Clemson was vs WV. Bricks defense at Baylor was far worse.
