How much can Krags really help JJ?

1. Start with his release. JJ takes too long to get rid of the ball.
2. JJ needs to learn how to look off the safeties. He keys in on his primary receiver every time.
3. Footwork...JJ needs to use it to buy more time for his receivers to get open.
4. Keep your eyes downfield, JJ. He is too quick to tuck and run.

All things JJ still has time to learn.

Seems I remember Miles made some comments in an interview with Brando (i'm sure someone has the link) about continuing to keep some elements of the Spread in tact as long as JJ was at LSU.

Les Miles loves him some JJ.

Why not run the best offense for the TEAM, not the best offense for JJ? Why not let one of the other QB's have a chance to win the starting QB position? Doesn't Les realize that the only time this year JJ ever felt threatened to lose his starting job, the Cotton Bowl, he prepared for and played his best game of the year? Having the head coach baby the QB in spite of terrible performance is not the best way to inspire confidence in the team.

Just not in one year. I don't think it's magically going to click for him. He should have already been working on these things for years.

One of the things i read about Kragthorpe that I liked was that he likes to put about 10 plays a piece from the head coach and the QB into the weekly gameplan.

he also stresses QB flexibility in making checks at the line, but also uses a simplified approach to do it.

someone had posted a very interesting and in-depth article in a 2-part series that was extemely informative about Kragthorpe's approach.

i was encouraged by what i read.

JJ does have the arm strength no doubt. Whats going to be his achilles heel so to speak is his lack of accuracy. A pro offense passing attach has a lot of timing that goes into it. The ball needs to be there at a certain time and in a certain window... which JJ has never shown he can do. But again he can work on this, just don't see him being able to change that much to out play Mett. Especially if Mett is close to what he has benn billed as.

I don't even think he's been officially hired and we are already saying he has a secret playbook.

I'm not a Jefferson fan but I do believe he will improve with the style of offense we're going to be running. I wouldn't be surprised if he played well.

you can always come back after its official. Pretty sure this stuff isnt legally binding in any way, but you may want to consult your lawyer if you have questions.

"secret playbook"....let it go, dude...let it go.

If JJ is our starter next year we're in big trouble. His drop back is slow, his release is slow, his basic throwing motion is terrible. I would say his reads are slow but there are no reads. He's done play action with no back in the backfield. slow, slow, slow

prob untold hours were spent planning this well conceived and obviously well carried out play . it went for 30 or 40 yds at a guess. just another big special team effort
