No big names or coaches from elite programs are coming. I predict a lot of fans will not be happy with the choice, but it comes down to who is willing to come to BR.

Guy, you don't use big-time coaches as a smokescreen. You use coaches like Napier, Tucker or Aranda as smokescreens for the real candidate.

If Riley is a smokescreen for a bigger candidate, it really narrows the options to

- Saban
- Dabo

Which I really don’t see either of happening, thus Riley is no smokescreen

for the record i think Riley is a grand slam at LSU, but ive said from day 1 my sauces say no way he would do that.

He is very loyal to Stoops and Joe C. and has everything he needs to win a title there.

Just assume LSU offered 12.5
He makes 7.5 so OU would give him a big raise to counter

He still plays in the B12 for at least 1-2 more years with a Heisman level QB.

Why would he drop a plum gig when every year he's in the playoff mix to go start over at a school thats about to be in the same division?

I think Woodward threw a big arse offer on the table (10 maybe as high as 12) which surprised even Riley. Riley indirectly communicates that to admin/ boosters who squawk. Riley says okay maybe I will consider it. I think that is where we are. Will OU match or come close to the offer? Raise your hand if you would turn down a raise taking you from 7.6 to 10 or maybe 12 million. And I don’t care who posters say he’s loyal to.
