No reason Zook couldn't go about doing it the right way too if he was the guy.

Riiiiiiiiiight...

Which would be the way that it's going right now.

If, in fact, it is Zook.

again, doing it the right way doesn't mean it has to be completely silent.

Chavis = silent = wrong way
Pelini = forthcoming = right way

Nah, I get it fine. I just think you WANT it to be Zook bad enough to believe a special teams coach has to be quiet through the playoffs because if he announced he got a promotion to a DC position it would be detrimental to the team. And that's perfectly fine to believe. I just think you're wrong.

I don't want it to be Zook, and I've never said such a thing. I'm playing the scenario out, in regards to it being someone in the NFL.

Yes, and at this point my sources have asked that I wait to say anything for a couple days. If what they say is true I am stoked

3. It could be an NFL coach recently fired, or in a lesser capacity with a non-playoff team but if that is the case then you could announce it now if it was a done deal. Safe to assume this is not the scenario or if it is, that it's not a done deal as of today.

The guy could still be waiting for the NFL jobs to be filled before fully accepting LSU's DC position? NFL teams want to talk to the coaches that are still in playoffs and it's holding up the process

Can I request that you post the name when this is over...even if it doesn't come to fruition.

I'd still be interested to hear the name.

s not at all clear to me that LSU has a person, a timetable or a strategy.
By the same token, if they do have their man chosen, we seem to be losing some recruiting opportunities in a down year by virtue of delay.

One way or the other, this search will be a test of the competency of Miles et al.
A couple of years ago, everyone thought he hit a homer in Cameron, which was his last test.
This one will likely be examined more carefully.

To me, stretching it out and making a big splash just before OV's kick off again is exactly his style.

That way the decision cant be criticized by our opponents and by then may be so momentous that recruits come, and in haste committ.

I'll take Haley and Oregon at DL and LB coaches, and the old Steelers coordinator coming here. Haley would be his predecessor

Sorry, I don't consider ST coach for the Packers to DC for LSU a lateral move - neither in status or pay grade.

And if you honestly don't believe a NFL DC caliber coach would take a higher paying gig with less trouble and open recruiting then maybe you should pass us the pipe. There is a possibility that it happens

I said it's not happening with any of the DC's from remaining playoff teams. IMHO there's a 0% chance of that happening.

If it's happening with another DC of a non-playoff team, there's no reason not to announce it unless it's not a done deal yet.

Honestly, I'm not sure why this is hard to comprehend.
