USC fans on 247 are saying Haden wanted Sarkisian over Peterson because Sarkisian had a better interview

So doing what's best for him personally and professionally is having "no guts"?

A fighter. A person who always wants something better doesn't settle. He is a settler. He is scared to make a big move.

I like the move. Good for Petersen.

Heck of an upgrade.

Not so fast...The last highly successful Boise coach failed miserably at Colorado.

What if he felt that UW fit him and his family better than USC? Bigger isn't always better.

I'd say moving from Boise St. to a Pac12 school with a history of competing for Rose Bowls is a fairly decent move.

So he withdraws his name from USC but takes the Wash job? Weird

If the money was close, I'd prefer UW over USC also.

Seattle >>>>> LA
Out of the limelight
Doesn't have to win 10 games a year.
UW's new stadium is breathtaking and UW's campus is awesome

more coaches should approach jobs like petersen.

choose the job that fits you and your family the best. don't just take the first chance at a cash grab you get.

i think washington is the perfect job for him.

Those are just a few reasons I'd rather go to UDub. Also, you get a chance to build your own legacy there, as opposed to following all of the legends at USC. It would be a no brainer for me, but everyone wants different things.

Petersen could get nearly any job in college football and he chose Washington?

Its not that is a bad job, but he can do better

ETA: It just seems weird that after all the jobs he's passed on to stay at Boise, I always assumed if he did leave it'd be to a USC, UT, etc.

I hear you man, but everyone is different. Not everyone wants the Texas, Bama, USC type jobs and all the hoopla that comes with it.

I know Mike Leach is the same way, same with Art Briles
