That is what other insiders said. Expected to announce in early afternoon (west coast time) at coaches meeting. Mike Riley targeted as HC. USC expected tp have coach by Wednesday. Del Rio is Garrett's distant second candidate. (He keeps a short list of candidates with whom he talks to now and again about "if there is ever an opening for HC).) S

They should be. He's been the best coach in the conference for awhile now.

I don't get it. He was the OC here and has strong ties to USC, turned OSU into a solid program when they hadn't even had a winning record for decades and he might be the best at talent development in the country.
The only real concern I see is recruiting and that's hard to judge because he's in Corvallis

Reading that blog if you substitute Miles name for PC it was just like reading the rant.

If you're a USC fan you have to be happy. One Pete can't get it done with the best talent in they country. Unless you like winning the rose bowl every year (well not this one) and getting beat by a shitty conf opponent at least once a year.

What Riley has done at OSU is ridiculous. Too many fans get hungup on recruiting and the hype of CFB but don't know the half of it.
If USC hires Riley it will be a grandslam hire. It's hard to imagine them getting much better in the future but I could see it under Riley although the Pac 10 improving as a whole will hurt them. Riley is an unreal coach who would be scary at USC, moreso than Carroll IMO.
