So you're trolling? I asked a legitimate question.

How did yours work out.
I never claimed a source nor did I ever suggest I knew what Saban was going to do. Why are you lying?

The bigger question is why is Saban lying?
1. I never considered the Texas job. Does anyone really believe that? Every coach is going to consider every job offer that comes across their desk. Saban is too smart to not consider it.
2. He loves Alabama. Yeah. Just like he loved LSU. Sure. Today's coaches don't love the place they're coaching. For example: Miles can say he loves LSU all he wants. But he doesn't. He loves Michigan.
So, why is Saban making these elaborate statements that have no factual basis? IMO, it is obvious. He's trying to deflect attention and quiet a critical media. Then comes the real question: why does he feel the need to quiet the media?

Bama is doing the same thing a MLB team does in giving a monster contract to a pitcher in his mid thirties-paying retroactively for past performance that may not continue. Maybe he'll give you five more great years, or maybe his arm is worn out. You're taking a risk.
I think that scenario is a much more risky enterprise than us paying Saban. It's a given that a pitcher in his mid-thirties will decline, but it's far from a certain thing that Saban's coaching will. Also, Saban is probably worth more than 7.5 million a year to Alabama. It would be far more risky for Alabama not to try and lock Saban up.

It's always hard to see old lovers happy with their new relationship.

You sound like the next lover who thinks she can keep him faithful. Delusional thinking in both situations

But what if the next lover really did keep him faithful? How much would that bother you?

Saban said that. Don't believe it but he said it.
This may have already been posted somewhere, but it's too funny not to post again anyway. FoxSports still doesn't believe him. I don't think he's going anywhere and I never thought he was going to TX, but I have gotten a great deal of amusement out of this debacle and the quotes from this article are mighty funny in spite of Saban's insistence that he never considered TX etc... Some people still don't believe him.

I like Saban as a coach, but there's a reason why people don't believe it and he has no one to blame but himself. Maybe he has changed but you can't blame people for not believing him.

If they cheat WITH you, they'll cheat ON you. I wouldn't trust Saban enough to ask him what time it is.

The truth. That's what's amusing about the quotes from the USA today article in which he seems frustrated and surprised that folks didn't believe him some months ago when he said he wasn't interested in going elsewhere.

I have read way too much of these posts and I have to say I agree. Saban could have nipped the rumors in the bud immediately - like other coaches have done when their name pops up. Instead, he lets them fly and then magically gets a new deal offered - the likes of which had not been offered during the season. His statement that he and Alabama had been working on this since during the season supports the same. And does anyone really think he was sitting on a $7M a year deal for months?
So he worked Bama and got paid. I think it shows lack of integrity. He worked the best deal he could in March of 12 or 13 (not sure which based on the commentary) based on having own national championships and to now get a new deal based on rumors just shows it isn't about how much they love Alabama, or his team members, or his "process." It is just about money for him.
Sure it is part of the culture of college and professional sports to some degree. But I have to think that some coaches would have handled it differently and better.
Handled it differently and better? Who Les? :)

just more proof if not outright confirmation, Texas used and abused their fans by fanning rumors that
Nick Saban was coming...when in fact its gonna be gene chizik
That hurts worse than a Texas twitty tister, and
