sounds familiar

Chavis is the perfect DC for Miles. Super conservative so he won't clash with Miles' philosophy of playing not lose but is solid enough to keep Miles employed with 9-3, 8-4 type seasons over and over so he can keep collecting $4 million checks.

Raise was not earned by Chavis!

Taking a defense up 50 some odd spots despite losing their best d-lineman is shitty, I agree.

He's not horrible, I don't think anyone is saying that, they are saying why do we give someone a raise after 1 year and the team didn't even win any championships. I think it's a legitimate question.

That's a brilliant financial strategy IMO. Maybe Miles isn't as dumb as we think.

LSU's admins proved again that they are willing to settle for average to above average teams with little chance to win a title on a consistent basis. Given the amount of money they expect fans to shell out, this is just pitiful to me.

So what if LSU defense actually declines in some aspects next season?

What if Chavis at LSU is like Chavis at UT his last few seasons there? Great one year, then average, then horrible (or any order if you would like)

I do not like a raise after 1 season

You don't know the details/reasons behind that. Neither do I.

I find it hard to believe he wouldn't leave Ole Miss to come too LSU for more money.

:crickets:

Seems as if the Miles-haters think that all the other SEC programs are operating with SWAC budgets and facilities and everyone is standing in line to be the next (insert coaching spot you want replaced). I am glad he is staying-would have been a shame to lose the wrong coordinator.

Seeing as Charlie Strong was one of the lowest paid DCs in the SEC powerhouses much less the entire conference, UF probably low-balled Nix. That simple.

LSU is willing to pay $600k+ for a good, not great DC that will actually continue to hurt our team's offense. He made absolutely NO adjustments for the shitty DL play that hurt this team to no end, and gave teams TOP in almost every game because of his horrible 3rd down defensive play calling.

He did improve the lb's tremendously. They played like shite last year.

strong was making $310k/year AFTER they won the NC going into last year. He was likely at $400k AFTER coaching 2 NC defenses in 5 years.

Chavis' fat arse just got $600k+ for an above average YEAR!

I am not against Chavis, but the ineptitude of LSU's admins on the football side of things has been unmatched the past 3-4 seasons.

Unless that offense is giving up 50 points to the opponents defense.
