WAIT, wait, wait...

LSU was in a bidding war with Georgia for Chavis's services as DC? But...but...but... I thought belowpar's rep had taken a hit when he said Chavis might be gone... .

Granted the raise was not need at this time. I will have to say Chavis need another year or two to get his players into his system. We can all agree there has been some improvements on the Defensive side of the ball. Lets give the man a chance to see if they continue to improve next season. The players have to learn a new system. Example sabans first year at LSU half the defense was lost the CB's receive the nickname of toast, but at the end of the year the started getting better and the next season when saban started getting the players he wanted. Saban D took off Just like Bo P Defensive.

You don't know the details/reasons behind that. Neither do I.

Yeah, I know. I'm just saying it's odd.

But, Florida does have a history of drastically underpaying their assistants. Maybe the raise they offered was minimal.

Defense is definitely more organized, LB play is better, and so is DB play. DL play is 10x worse almost entirely on scheme and the defense is marginally better.

You're an idiot. Please elaborate why the scheme they run now on the Dline is so inferior to schemes run in the past. If you had any damn sense you would realize that our Dline talent was signifigantly down this year. No 1st round picks. Hell, I dont even see a player that will go in the first 3 rounds. Sucks for UGA fans.

Les Miles is still LSU's coach so it all evens out.

While I agree, it sucks that Chavis gets a raise for talking with another school, I disagree with your opinion that he is somehow responsible for a bad offense.

Chavis simply works on a bend dont break rule. If we can get pressure on an opponents qb on third down, then the third down conversion rate of our opponents offense would undoubtedly be held down.

We can either place the blame on Brick for that or talent. Verdict is still out on that one. LSU is one of the best in the entire country on the lowest number of touchdowns scored against us.

As much as the bending sucks, its overall a good system when coupled with our redzone defense.

Again, the defense might stay on the field longer, but it is to prevent the other team from huge plays, which normally break a teams spirit and are hard to recover from. Some of the worst defenses stay off the field because they are unable to stop their opponent.

The real problem is that when our opponents kick a field goal, we get back on the field and go three and out because of our gun shy offense, including miles, crowton, and jj. Cant say I dont blame them after this year, but screw it, towards the end of the bama and florida games, I was all for balls to the wall offense.

It isnt hard to imagine that it would hurt the offensive players pysche not going balls out for a win with half a quarter left trailing.

Blame miles, crowton, stud, or even maybe brick, but i do not believe chavis is the problem. Im glad he is still here considering our other options
