The guy's a good recruiter and a good D coach. His worst problem was getting too excited about the games and not hydrating and passing out. I think he and Les will fix that.

Don't over react to the 70 points put on Clemson by W. Va. The Clemson O turned it over 4 times. If you look at the highlight reel you'll see that the defensive schemes are good, and the players are aggressive and in good position--they just didn't have the athletes to line up with W. Va. that day. Also, W. Va. had one of those games where they were on fire, not their typical outing.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Steele/Orgeron era. Looking for some nice surprises come signing day.

Our real problem is still QB and the O scheme.

is that why he got fired? Just 1 bad game? The D was trending downward that was the just the exclamation point on the ending.

He is not a good defensive coordinator.

Period.

He is a good recruiter and lets hope he picked up something from Saban in the last year that will help him.

Was his D as young as people are saying that year?

I like how he acts like he was working with crap over at Clemson, he just ran into big, bad WVU on that evening. You just don't have the horses at a school like Clemson to compete with powerhouses like that.

Steele had two good years at Clemson with someone else's talent then it went south. Plus, Saban, for all intents and purposes fired from DC after only 1 year. Add in his so called "psychological melt" after the WVU game, and you have an, at best ,a risky scenario .

So did Ohio State's offense the other night. I didn't see get 70 points laid on them.

His defense just had a knack for giving up big plays.

In 2011 Clemson gave up 180 plays of 10+ yards. To be honest, I don't know what the norm is but this seems like a lot...

180 plays of 10+ yds
57 plays of 20+ yds
33 plays of 30+ yds
19 plays of 40+ yds
9 plays of 50+ yds

10+ yd plays in 2011

10 Vs. Troy:
39, 12, 12, 21, 16, 10, 11, 56, 13, 44

9 Vs. Wofford: 10, 27, 13, 66, 11, 28, 61, 11, 31

13 Vs. Florida State: 13, 21, 11, 14, 57, 41, 13, 12, 30, 16, 11, 32, 11

13 Vs. Virginia Tech: 14, 13, 11, 15, 11, 18, 15, 12, 16, 13, 19, 15, 14

16 Vs. North Carolina: 15, 33, 15, 15, 16, 14, 58, 13, 17, 11, 12, 11, 11, 12, 52, 12

10 Vs. Georgia Tech: 46, 10, 21, 12, 44, 56, 11, 12, 10, 13

9 Vs. Wake Forest: 13, 19, 17, 12, 10, 17, 19, 33, 18

Maybe Kevin Greene was just holding him up when he grabbed Steele after they got into on the Carolina Panthers sideline.

If he's such a hot commodity, why did we leave him twisting in the wind for two weeks after word leaked out that we reached out to him?

Why did we travel across the country courting so many other people?

Were other teams kicking down Steele's doors while he waited two weeks for us to call back?

what is he a 7 year old?

IF you aren't drinking hard there is no excuse for a crown man to be passing out due to dehydration.

Call me what you want, but I'm not sold on Steele, and don't know why it took this long if it was Steele?
