The Advocate
For those that do not venture over to The Rant.
Will this affect the DC and PGC hires. That is quite the bump for O.

Orgeron has agreed to terms on a new deal that will pay him roughly $7 million per year over the next six years, an LSU official confirmed with The Advocate Friday morning.

base salary of $6 million, keeps Orgeron in Baton Rouge until at least 2026 and it includes a $5 million split-dollar life insurance policy in the first two years of the deal. Before bonuses, the contract is worth more than $42 million.

He did very well this year but top 5 money is kind of crazy. Looks great compared to Jimbo though

Why is top 5 money crazy? He deserves every penny and is a top 5 coach. What is your logic? Have you taken a look at Harbaugh, Mullen, Herman, malzhon, etc. money. He’s getting paid what he earned.

I think the next assistants hired will have average to above-average salaries for their positions, especially if we're to believe that there's intense demand for these positions.
The paying up for assistants is over and done with. Why would the LSU AD feel obliged to overpay when there's demand?

I'm speaking in terms of salary. Behind Saban and Jimbo. So while it stands out that the contract puts him in the top 5 coaches nationally, it had to be that high just to keep up with the division.

Excellent point, and he has earned every penny, IMHO.

Well of the three highest paid, only two are earning it. Put up or shut up year for Jimbo “we are close” Fisher.

This. Would love to see him flame out at aTm.

Sucks for him to have his eggs in the Kellen Mond basket.

So your logic is that everyone else overpaid, why can't LSU?

I trashed O bad for 2.5 years after he was hired. I feel bad for saying anything but... Gene Chizik comes to mind. I really don't think they are the same but it crosses my mind. If we over pay and pay O for 2019 alone... Frick it.. it was worth it.
