Orgeron's "ultimate dream is to be the head coach of LSU"

According to Bobby Hebert

Like that will ever happen
quote:
Hebert said Orgeron told him he hoped he wasn’t burning a bridge to LSU because coaching the Tigers is still the Galliano native’s “dream job.”
“I think his ultimate dream is to be the head coach of LSU and he feels like if he has success at Tennessee that’s something that could still happen down the line,” Hebert said.

the bridge from Galliano to BR is burnt.

Yea, it is only a dream now. I am not going to knock the guy personally. He did burn some bridges.

That's hilarious. I guess 600k isn't enough to make his dream a reality.

The guy who failed at Ole Miss? No thanks.

what, like dive bombing the site with 1,000 posts in a day?
what are you gonna do? nothing. I think it's a cute little compliment he heaped upon LSU. wishful thinking/ nice cover up story on his and Bobby's part. Good luck to him and his family, hope Kiffen doesn't drag his career down to the point of not even being able to get a $250,000 DL gig here, when he needs a job again.

This just shows what kind of a genius we are dealing with here. Lets see almost equal jobs at UT and LSU(except at LSU he would have atleast been AHC) which one will get me to HC at LSU faster....hmmmm I know I will snub LSU and take job at UT so they will like me more and then I get HC job at LSU.
Like others have already said I doubt he would ever be considered for the HC spot regardless but any normal retard could see that this probably isn't the best way to go about it.

It's probably quite a bit more money at Tennessee, plus he knows Kiffin from working with him at SC. They have a good working relationship already, so there's a familiarity factor.
They also helped build USC from a mediocre program into what it is today, and I reckon they believe with the infra$tructure and $upport they have at Tenne$$ee, they'll achieve $imilar $ucce$$ in Knoxville.

Not so sure about this.
i can understand the familiarity angle, but Bobbys comment about the "dream job" is absolute BS, imo. No way does O think that he is ever going to get the HC job at LSU by going to UT in this way. There is absolutely nothing in his past that clearly points out that he has some sort of love for LSU. I think Bobby is just being a friend here and trying to help save face in La. for his pal. That sucks, if true.

Orgeron is/was unlikely ever to be the head coach at LSU, even had he taken the LSU assistant job, over Tennessee. However, whatever slim chance he might have had is probably gone with the wind now.
Glad something good came out of this stupid mess.

I think the cannon got used here a little bit. If I was O and about to start recruiting in LA, I would publicly make this announcement as well. Sorta like a little Napoleonic coach in Bama did/does.

I'm quite sad this morning about O, not because of taking a job at Tennessee........not about how much money they offered him and the opportunity it was........
I'm sad because I thought O was a Louisiana boy who didn't need an extra 100 grand to get satisfaction.
In September when we get to evacuate for a Hurricane he will realize what he missed out on. Or when that 8lb spec comes out Lake Bourgne.
Say it ain't so O, say it ain't so.

I think Bobby must be pissed at Les over doughboy's status on the o line depth chart.
