I feel like usually when coaches get new contracts, the initial announcement is that they signed it, not that it was offered. It's like Oregon is trying to put public pressure on Taggart here.

A coach is worth what the school is willing to pay him. If Uncle Phil wants to overspend, so be it. I think Taggart is a heck of a coach, btw.

Willie has built two programs, and currently has a top 6 recruiting class at Oregon. Kelly never did that. He is most certainly a 20 MM coach. If I were UT, he would have been my initial target.

What is the hype with this guy anyway? He's sub .500 all-time, coming off a medicore 7-5 season @ ORE. Has had one 10 win season.

Even if he stays at Oregon, they will not finish in the top ten recruiting class once the uncommitted big fish commit to the bigger schools.

He's more than a coach there... He single handedly keeps the black population in Oregon from being a rounding error.
