Well, I must say, this was all a bit excessive fellas.
Sorry, I was flying back home to Iowa most of the day.

Well, this might start a sh*t storm but......he claims that Miles is responsible for 70% of the play calls this year.......
Take that for what it's worth.

I'm sorry, but who's your source that's reporting the 70%?

Thanks for sharing.....I choose not to believe (for my own sanity).

Let's just say, its about as close to Crowton as you'd care to get.

Good Lord. You know his proctologist?

Eh, unless you are a close friend, I am sure he has reason to stretch the truth. He should be pretty embarrassed about the offensive production, as should Leslie.

Yeah, ya'll know I'm not the kind of person that thrives on spreading rumors around here and I didn't come running to the board when I heard it last week; I'm just offering up what I do know as far as what he knows/is saying.

Yeah, I think you are very reliable in your posts and don't doubt that he said that at all. But when it comes to these types of things, I bet that only 5-10 people know the true story (and more than half of those people have no incentive to tell the truth).

You're a good poster. NO reason to give you shite.

Can't wait to find out if belowpar is one of them.

The one really good thing about BP is that it seems like he has no agenda. Sometimes that's even more important than having all of the details to every bit of information.
Then again, it's also in my best interest (peace of mind
) to assume that Les wasn't the guy in charge of the awful playcalls this year.

The good thing about this...Only Miles and Crowton know how much input Miles had on the offense this year. Everyone, including Miles and Crowton, knows where our offense ranked this year in production.
So, put those two pieces of information together ... hopefully Miles is able to connect the dots. Either...
A) Miles was heaviliy involved in the offense. It obviously didn't work. He should learn his lesson and quit tinkering and let the OC do their job.
Or
B) Crowton was primarily responsible for the offense. It obviously didn't work. Time for a new OC.
-Again, the only two people with the first piece of information are Miles and Crowton. Thus, I've gotta have faith that Miles will make the needed correction, whether that is A or B I do not know, but he should know because he knows which one had more say in the O in 2009.... we shall see.
Of course, we might have all shot ourself in the foot by calling for Crowton's head if indeed Miles was the problem on offense all along. Not only do we lose a very bright and well-respected offensive coordinator, but we are bound to run into the same issues in the future with Miles not letting the OC do their job.
For my own mental health, I just have to hope that Crowton is the bulk of the problem and a new offensive staff will rectify the situation OR Miles learned his lesson about tinkering and will stop doing it and assume a Bobby Bowden-type role and just let the assistants do all the work.

Well, the thing that I questioned when I heard the 70% deal was that Crowton's production here has followed his typical three-year pattern of progressively degenerating offenses.
Now I believe one thing, Miles does some stupid things but he's not stupid.
I'm pretty sure that he knows he's has a year and MAYBE two before he's out if the offense doesn't turn around. I believe he'll make the changes necessary whether he was calling the plays this year or not.

Well, since 30% of the calls were option plays to the near side...

Can I jump on that train with you?
With a 9 or 10 win season, Miles isn't going anywhere until AT LEAST 2012 unless the wheels come off and we only win like 3 games next year. The offense MUST get better for us to be a legit contender.
