If there's one thing about verge I trust it's finding the right guy for LSU. He was right to go after Lane if we miss that's not on verge. Let's see who we end up with before we call for his job

Also, why would he take your roster? LSU has a better roster and some coaches don't think that's a good look if the team has a chance to finish with a great season.

A- this is uncharted territory. No one knows what the frick this really is, especially you as an outsider. You’re just reading and interpreting tea leaves like everyone else.
B- this bit of detente is dependent on both sides keeping quiet. If LSU senses that Lane is wavering, they will likely start leaking shite and push this to a resolution during the week rather than waiting. There is a drama point past which Ole Miss would have to take action rather than potentially sacrifice the Egg Bowl and jeopardize a playoff birth due to extended drama.

LSU isn’t hiring a coach until next Sunday at the earliest. Whether it’s Lane or someone else. 8 days isn’t going to put LSU in any worse situation than LSU is already in.

What is this “strategic blunder” you’re referring to? You have no idea what conversations our AD has or has not had… or is having?
Do sitting coaches in the CFP era usually announce they’re leaving for another school before the end of November?
I am more bullish on LSU poaching Kiffin after this week than I ever was at any point prior. You guys showing up here wishcasting gives us a pretty good gauge of the temperature on the other side too… Y’all do not seem confident lol.

Delaying the decision until next week was not good for LSU. I think Lane fully intended to leave today and Ole Miss came up with something at the last minute that derailed that. He went from leaving to having to consider an enhanced deal. LSU should be extremely concerned because this might be a game changer.
