He IS NOT going to State. Auburn fired him and has to pay full buyout. Very stupid on their part. He does not need the money and wants less stress.
LSU DC anyone? I know it's a pipe dream but a dream nonetheless.

His back ground is offense not defense.

any chance hed settle for a DC position? seems like now that hes coached at a prime time school and been successfull he wouldnt settle for anyhting less than HC
Posted on 12/3/08 at 8:03 pm to LSU Red24
I was told he is wary of the stress associated with HC and may not do that again.
Posted on 12/3/08 at 8:04 pm to Tigerark
I can't see someone with so much success as a HC return to a coordinator's position. Just can't.

He may not do anything. Truthfully, the Barn just gave him a 6 Mil dollar retirement plan.

My. God. You, sir, are the very reason they included this picture onto this site.
And another thing, Tuberville would never, ever, take anything less than a head coaching position after being so successful at that level. I doubt he takes another job anyway, he probably will just retire, and good for him, he has earned it.

This is what an Aubbie friend of mine just sent me in an email:
"This is what "inside sources" are saying:
Tubs had agreed with Jacobs to let some of the Offensive staff go. Today while meeting with Jay Jacobs, Tubs told him that he just does not have it in him to go at it with a new staff and does not want to keep the AU program hanging by staying on when he is not sure if he wants see it all the way through. He told him that he and his wife has talked it over and wanted to move on, but that he would do whatever he needed to in order to make the transition go well like stay around in the athletic department or something.
Tubs told the players "I'm sorry guys. It didn't work out. I'm sorry."
He's a good man and did what's right if you ask me. War Damn Tuberville it was a helluva run!!"

He did and his kids enjoy going to school there. He may just retire, stay there and laugh his arse off watching the massive meltdown.

So why would they fire him if he essentially walked in there and quit? Wouldn't that be the worst Athletic Department move in history.
