the Raiders are "intrigued" with ex-Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels as a replacement for Tom Cable.

Davis has also long been fond of Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh, who coached the Raiders' QBs in 2002-2003.

Wow........he might come in and trade McFadden.....after the fiasco in Denver, I doubt anyone hires this guy as a head coach for awhile.

It doesn't make sense to fire Cable, IMO. He just led them to their first non-losing record since their Super Bowl year. That should give him at least another year. No one expected them to be that good this year.

I'm pretty sure Schefter said the same things after both the '08 and '09 seasons.

The Raiders are 'Les Miles' level unpredictable; nobody knows what the Crypt Keeper is going to do until he's already done it.

There should be a new rule:

If you are drafted by the Raiders, you reserve the right to say frick off, Al. Next.

I don't think that Cable is the answer, but I think you've got to keep him if you ever expect to hire a winning coach again. He needs to keep Cable around for 3+ more years. Heck, he might actually continue to win.

But, Death needs to try to keep a coach around for 3 or 4 years in order to gain any respectability if he expects to hire a good coach any time before he dies. Although, he might already be dead, so who knows?

He hasn't been fired yet.

Even if he DOES get fired, the job is going to offensive coordinator Hue Jackson.

I'm a Raider fan. I know the team very well.

Davis has spent the last twelve months talking up Jackson in his few public appearances.

Cable entered '10 on a one year contract. Jackson was hired as the 'offensive coordinator' and given a two year deal.

I'm guessing people either didn't know or forgot that Cable was thisclose to getting fired after Oakland lost to San Fransisco - Hue Jackson was named not as 'a' possible replacement, but the replacement. Oakland went on a 3 game winning streak, which saved Cable from getting Kiffin'd during the bye-week.

Hue Jackson is also the most 'interviewed' Raider assistant in the 17 years I've followed the team. Usually, Raider assistants aren't allowed to speak to the media; Davis apparently changed that policy this season, and for Hue Jackson specifically.

It's all subjective, but I'd be surprised if Hue Jackson isn't given the job.
