Boston College < Arkansas
Clemson = Bama
Louisville < Auburn
NC State < LSU
Syracuse < Miss St
Wake < Ole Miss
Miami > South Carolina
But yea....I'm supposed to believe that the ACC where Jimbo coached is better than the SEC West?

Besides Clemson and Miami (this year) who else in the ACC is any good?

However, in his first year CEO could pull off a 10 win season. That is nothing to bat an eye at.
We fired the last guy for only winning 9-10 games. Why have the expectations changed?
Don't tell me it's a rebuild because we were told it wasn't a rebuild until we lost to troy.

If you actually believe that, then why do you prefer fisher to orgeron when money isn't considered?
But once the hire was made, we have to judge the coaches from the point of hire to see if the true better decsion was made. It is a very very very simple concept
Would Dabo Swinney or Rich Rod have been a better hire back in 2008? Clearly, the answer then is Rich Rod. However, once the hire is made, you judge the two coaches from the point of the hire.
Would anyone now argue who the better hire was between swinney and Rich rod from 2008-now

Satan lost to UAB and ULM. So what?

facepalm
Any LSU fan shitting on this hire is in complete denial. A&M got our guy because we went cheap and lazy

I wish you fricking idiots would stop comparing Ed fricking orgeron to the greatest college head coach of all time.

So the things that made one the better coach over the other before the hiring process just completely go away once a hire happens, and everyone starts back over at 0?

You make hires based on previous success.
quote:You judge the actual success of the hire by the results from the hire forward though.
So this whole "wait until it blows up" process doesn't prevent you from seeing how lopsided the two hires were at the time they were made.
If O continues to have a better record from 2017-whenever than Jimbo does from 2017-whenever, then he was actually the better hire correct?
Or will you actually say you wanted Jimbo, even though we have the coach with the better record from the point of hire.....

The only years that matter when comparing 0 to jimbo for an lsu fan should be 2017-the future
Once the hire was made, What they did prior is irrelevant now.
Is this just a way to justify the O hire?
You cant even compare these 2 as coaches. This is like comparing an NFL team to a high school JV team

I don't think I need to tell you the problem with hiring a coach whose most favorable attribute is how easily he can be fired.

Holy shite that's an awesome way of putting it. I laughed irl

It is a great hire on the surface but if A&M continues to miss the 10 win mark then they're paying 7.5 million a year for results than aren't much better than Sumlin delivered.

Yeah, keep on mentioning two bad losses over a career that spans 20+ years and includes multiple conference and national championships.
Orgeron had two historically bad losses in the span of 3 weeks, not to mention his career at OM.

Good hire, they had the right amount of money and the right timing to get it done.. Should spice up the "rivalry" that hasnt materialized between us..

If O has a better record from 2017-2025 then Jimbo has from 2017-2025, then he was actually the better hire.
You would disagree? That is illogical

A&M doesn’t care about money....they are desperate for results in a place they doesn’t make them happen
