Add other possible candidates...

Phil Bennett - Former DC at LSU and K-State. His defenses were very aggressive. He would be a good hire. A players' coach who loves to blitz.

I particularly like the first three on the list. I had forgotten about VanGorder, but if Tenuta doesn't pan out, I hope he would get some serious consideration; the guy is pretty intense come gametime.

What about Mike Stoops if he gets fired as a head coach at Arizona?

Van Gorder is intriguing to me. Was he fired or did he leave UGA on his own? I doubt Muschamp comes here unless we just completely break the bank with him. Of course Tenuta is my first choice, but I think he'll get the GT gig.

Add Dewayne Walker from UCLA, really aggressive in his 2 years, NFL guy. UCLA's been near the top in sacks and TFL the past couple years. Wouldn't be surprised if they kept him when they do fire Dorrell though.

Ed Orgeron was the defensive line coach and assistant head coach for the USC from 1998-2004. I think he would be a good fit for LSU.

I have no firsthand knowlege of Orgeron, but he just seems to be an assclown, and might disrupt the chemistry of the staff. I dont know if I could handle a coordinator ripping his shirt off all the time.

I would like to have him on staff in some capacity for his recruiting ability- but after an HC gig, he probably wouldnt come as anything less than coordinator.

I have it on very good authority that Coach O's people have made contact with LSU.

So far it is just to show interest, I have no idea what the LSU reaction was.

Give me "Chinese Bandits" instead of "Wild Boys" any day.

Coach O is a clown. In a press conference before the LSU game he said "Players come to Ole Miss to beat LSU." Didn't say to win SEC championships or NC. Wasn't that successful recruiting while at Ole Miss. The 3 five star recruits he had were Brent Schaeffer (JC), Jerrell Powe (can't read), and Michael Oher (star). All other recruits were mainly JC players and a few highly toughted recruits. Im sure its difficult earning the reputation as a great recruiter at USC.

Weren't there rumors that Dunbar didn't mesh well with the college game or with Les Miles?

Dunbar and Pelini did not get along, KD wanted and thought he'd have more say in the D - he had none. KD and CLM worked together for several years at OSU and LSU, they get along fine.

He's working on that NFL pension now, doubt he'd come back but if he even considers it, it would be for DC.

I'm sorry, but all I gotta say, pay whatever Muschamp wants and get him back here. Tenuta is gonna get the GT job it sounds like, and he is very deserving of it. I may not like Saban, but I did like the style they ran and Muschamp will bring that back. I'm listening to 1210 AM in Baton Rouge right now and just wanted to add.... I GOT THAT WOOD! I GOT THAT WOOD! WE'RE GOIN TO THE SHIP! WHA! WE'RE GOIN TO THE SHIP! WHA! :nana: :nana:

I like Muschamp or Tenuta- and LSU will pay top dollar for assistants. The fact that our outgoing DC got promoted to HC has got to be a draw also.

Wonder if Muschamp calls all the shots on defense, or if Tubby (def. background) looks over his shoulder some? Maybe Muschamp would want free reign?
