Home Team BBQ is a good spot. Have a location near downtown and also one on Sullivan's Island. The one on Sullivan's is a few blocks off the beach.

Other Schools Getting BCSNC Tickets

Posted by BRFanNo1 on 12/19/11 at 10:24 am
A friend of mine in Houston got tickets to the BCSNC game from his father-in-law who is a grad/booster of University of Tenn. One of his Daughters goes to LSU so they sent him 6 tix to the Sugar Bowl and 6 tix to the BCSNC game. This is the first I have heard of other schools getting tickets to bowl games they aren't slated to play in. Anybody else aware of this?

TAF Priority Rank Question

Posted by BRFanNo1 on 12/8/11 at 5:54 pm
Was Just looking over a friends BCS confirmation email and was wondering a ballpark figure as to how much one would have to "donate" to fall in the following priority rank: 1-100 (get 8 tickets max), and 101-250 (6 max), 251-750 (4 max).

I'm not scared! LSU/ARK Comparison by #'s

Posted by BRFanNo1 on 11/22/11 at 10:26 pm
LSU
Outscored opponents 417-110 (307)
Offense avgs 37.91 pts/gm
Defense allows 10 pts/gm

ARK
Outscored opponents 432-232 (200)
Given up 114 pts through first 5 games
Offense avgs 39.27 pts/gm
Defense allows 21.09 pts/gm

Common Opponents (BAMA,TN,AUB,OlePiss,MooState)
LSU 163-32 (131)
Ark 175-100 (75)
LSU outscored the "best offense in the SEC" by 56 pts through common opponents.

While we rely on the run to open up the passing game, the Hogs rely on the pass to open up the running game. I really like our defense in this scenario. There is no doubt they will put up some passing yards and will score, but I don't see them scoring more than 21, if that. Our ability to run the ball is the kicker here.
Bama held ARK to 17 yds rushing while gaining 197 yds on the ground.
LSU held Bama to 96 yds on the ground while gaining 148.
Auburn rushed for 291 yds against them to 87 vs. us.
Ole Miss threw for 219 yds against them to 47 vs. us. (I know we didn't face their star quarterback)
TN threw for 238 yds vs. 128 against us.

There is no doubt they have a much better passing attack which in certain games has allowed them to have some success with the run. We should have little difficulty playing our physical style of offense... moving the ball on the ground which opens the passing game if needed, playing field position, and most importantly lights out defense. We finish regular season play 12-0

Ole Miss Suspensions

Posted by BRFanNo1 on 11/15/11 at 4:28 pm
Word out from some friends that graduated from Ole Miss is that three players have been suspended for the LSU game. Two of which are starters. At this time I do not know names, positions, skin color, zodiac signs, or uncles names. Just thought I'd pass along and hopefully a "link" will come out soon enough to satisfy all.
I have seen what was presented to the athletic department and was surprised that much like the Bama stadium, the upper decks did not connect. It was all club level seating on two levels and an upper deck. Suites bring in some big money but not compared to the revenue from a few thousand club seats. From the model the depth went much further than I would have guessed. We are a BCS bowl, hopefully the championship, away from them pulling the trigger.
Also, would love to check out a game in Eugene. Hopefully one day we can do a home and home. It's not out of the question with LSU playing Washington and West Virginia away these days.
FishDuck- Here is an LSU Defense Tutorial. No explanation needed. We look forward to facing both the inside and outside zone read. Defense

Defense Porn! Oregon Hell

Oregon- We look forward to meeting your "high pace offense!" You can argue we haven't faced an offense similar to Oregon, but I can argue you haven't played a defense such as this.
LSU 2011 Defense
I disagree with the offensive line being the main problem. Our passing game has been so lethargic that teams don't have to respect the air attack on 1st and 2nd down. We run the ball 75% of the time. When the opponent knows you are running the ball right at them ex. alabama and you rush for over 200 yrds credit has to be given to the OL. Play action would really be effective in my opinion.

I was trying to touch more on the "integrity" of switching jobs within the same conference aspect. It's not like they sign a non-compete contract! If Wilson had his druthers, we'd be running the same type style offense as FL.

ANY TRUTH TO THIS?

Posted by BRFanNo1 on 10/7/10 at 8:42 am
On the call in show last night:
"A caller from Port Allen wanted to know if Billy Gonzales has been able to give LSU any inside information on the Florida offense. Miles said as a rule assistant coaches hired from another school do not give away inside information."

This sounds like some BS to me. Miles then stated something along the lines that Billy has given our defense a great perspective of their personnel. Something was also said about coaching change integrity. You'd think Billy would put it all out there to give his team the best chance at winning.
LUCKYLES VID

i honestly think les and crew thought that play was a sure bet and a 2nd play wasn't necessary!
Not being able to stop someone on 4th down isn't beating yourselves (ask the gators about hester)... beating yourselves is going for it on 4th down against one of the nations top run defenses instead of punting, away from 7, to a struggling offense.
I SMELL FEAR!!!!!! I REPEAT... I SMELL FEAR!
Great post! Sure will be a great night in Death Valley.
BTW- Did you write the quotes for ANY GIVEN SUNDAY?
