They're guesses just like everyone else is making. But based on history and what's needed, they're really solid choices.

No Gundy, Patterson, Petersen, etc will come I do not think. It's not about money as these guys are set financially, it's about legitimate upward movement. You can make valid argument for all these guys that coming to UA is not a step up.

Sure man, I can make arguments for or against any name you want to throw out there, but I have more productive things I'd rather be doing.

TCU and Boise will never be on Arkansas's level

You're right Boise for last decade has been above Arkansas. TCU has twice the number of BCS games and they both have something Arkansas doesn't, wins in BCS games.

Now as a whole department you're right Atkansas is in better situation. But in football, they're not.

Wonder why Malzahn's name hasn't come up more...

...just kidding. But no kidding, I'd rather see him get hired over some of the alleged prospects that have been mentioned.

Just want to let all you Arkansas fans know to stop getting your hopes up for Gary Patterson

It's nothing more than a fantasy pipe dream

It's just not going to happen

Patterson has it made at TCU. Brand new stadium, over 3M a year and he also has mineral rights that a big donor gave to him worth over 10M on the Barnett shale

He loves ft worth and the big 12 isn't that great. He would never get Arky above lsu or Bama

I just don't see him abandoning everything he built to go to Arkansas.

He built the practice facilities, practice fields, all the other facilities, the stadium, the program, etc.

This year despite 70% of his starters being freshman he has won 7 games and has a chance to win 8

I just don't see him walking away from this young team he is building with a lot of potential for a lateral job, even if it means an increase in pay.

And with all the transfers eligible next year and key players coming back from injuries and grade problems, TCU is going to contend in the Big 12 next year. They are going to be picked to finish #1 or #2 in the league. Don't see him walking away from that potential to go rebuild a program.

Personally I don't see him leaving either.

I am willing to say that our HC's name has been released to the public so if we can get a time line of when security supposedly tightened up in the AD dept we might have a good idea of who it is.

I'm going into a numbness on this thing until the press conference.

Auburn and NC State are officially competing against us for a coach. We know at least one of those schools has no ethics and has no problem interviewing candidates before their season is over.

I think Auburn will try to pull an NFL guy. NC State may go after a SEC assistant if they strike out on their first couple targets.

You know, it's POSSIBLE that he's sick of seeing empty seats in a tiny stadium, even if it's one that he built.

Well Arkansas is greater than TCU, I think if we do not get Gary Patterson it will be because we either landed Petersen or his graduation/ pot smoking scandal did him in. The limit at Arkansas is a lot higher than the limit at TCU.

Yep, TCU was a have in their previous conferences; they're a have not in the BigXII.

In the last decade Boise and TCU has been a bigger player in NCAAFB. Boise has as many if not more NFL players. More BCS Bowl wins, bowl wins, and appearances; yet Arkansas has a better program lately?

Historically yes Arkansas does but not in last decade.

Everyone not named Texas or Oklahoma will be a have not eventually because of the way the conference is set up and how the revenue is divided.
