I like Odom as DC and I think he has the background to support his hiring. I also like the idea that he's a former SEC coach and is motivated to reaching that level again. The best way to show a university to give you another shot at HC is to show you can still coach on the field.

I prefer Freeman

If we can't get him I prefer Odom over Mason if that's my choices.

Bc going from being a dc at arky to being the dc at lsu isnt a lateral move genius. Lsu is a much better program with much better talent to execute your scheme, which will get you better opportunities at furthering your career if you choose to do so.

Freeman Odom Parker Leonard Would all be solid hires.

Leonhard of Wisconsin had an impressive game against Wake. Wisc doesn't have a of talent on defense and they shut down a very good offense. They had something like 4 interceptions against a QB that only had 1 this year.

I think Odom stays at Arky and gets a hefty raise. Fact is a ton of guys are not going to come to LSU with O on a short leash and the instability with some of the issues surround the LSU athletics department.

You are probably right about Odom, but O’s leash is longer than some of you make it out to be. The NCAA thing is unlikely to lead to much more than it already has. He isn’t getting fired next year without a losing season and with a normal schedule next year, that is extremely unlikely. He could be in trouble in 2022 if things aren’t back on track, but two years is a long time.

As for Title IX, yes there is uncertainty there, but it’s unlikely that they find a smoking gun on O. That means the admin would have to want to fire him right now based on what they have. That’s obviously not happening if we are replacing a bunch of staff. The fact that O was allowed to spend the money to replace several positions tells you all you need to know about how they feel the investigation will go. We wouldn’t be replacing anyone if they thought he was going down.

Leonhard is from Wisc. I doubt that he wants to leave his home school.

Money isn't an issue, the raise would be off set by his Missouri buyout, zero sum gain for him. The issue is coming to LSU he has an opportunity to return to the big stage and position himself for another HC job.

If LSU doesn't get Odom, Ryan Walters is a possibility.
