We may never know, but I still believe O was never a "legit" Top-tier candidate. He was only a bargaining chip with other candidates and mostly a PR campaign to motivate the team and fans for the rest of the 2016 season.
O's only shot of getting this job was if about 3-4 guys turned us down AND O winning out. I don't believe those 3-4 will all turn us down, so it really didn't matter what O did on the field.

Gundy would absolutely shred the SEC. The people that say otherwise just don't like the ridiculous mullet. No one would give a shite about a haircut when we are cutting through the SEC West.

Yeah Gundy would be a tremendous hire ... arguably better than Fisher.
I just like Fisher better because of his ties in the southeast as it pertains to recruiting ... Fisher knows how to navigate the SEC and the Southeast.
Either Fisher or Gundy would both be tremendous hires.
