I guess they will be respectful and allow him to try to finish the season undefeated. No way he pulls the same shite Saban did and announce before the game and the team comes out flat.

if they were going for Sumlin I imagine they would announce after the CUSA title game but before the probable Sugar Bowl bid.

Don't know Sumlin, but I'd imagine this will be Brian Kelly-esque in nature. Less meltdown at UH than at Cincinnati though. Just based on the logistics of bowl season and NSD.

Sumlin is the top target but the AD is doing a full search even if it doesn't appear that way.
Briles isn't one being considered. Charlie Strong, Kirby Smart (no surprise it's Stallings pick), and a handful of others are being/have been contacted.
Rumors of big names being gauged also just in case

My thought as well. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he's already in the bag and some of the recruits have been contacted about it. Then again, Twitter is a bitch and kids run their mouths constantly, so I'm sure we would have heard something by now.

Word is that it will be announced next week...and Sumlin may even come on immediately and not coach UH's bowl game. That is allegedly what A&M wants him to do.
