DBU actually started under Saban when Kirby Smart was the DB coach. Corey Webster, LeRon Landry, etc.

I stand corrected. I won't forget that again.

Didn't know that. Apparently I thought there were no DB's from Casanova through well into the 21st Century.

Dude basically said frick it and got lazy at LSU with one foot out the door constantly looking for an excuse to leave. Why in the world would we hire him back when he had that kind of motivation before he left?

Kirby was only here 1 year and those guys had already been coached up by Saban. It’s more the players who made it DBU starting with Webster, Daniels and Gay.

What people fail to realize is that those good secondary players were made to shine because we had exceptional Dline play that caused QBs to make lots of mistakes.

Cooper was recently named head coach at Long Island University and FCS school in New York. They were D-II until just a few years ago.

we had a pretty nice run of DBs in the 90s, they just get lost in all of the losing years

Denard Walker
Tory James
Rodney Young
Mark Roman
Ced Donaldson
Fred Booker
Clarence Leblanc

I think everybody listed made an NFL roster at least one year. D Walk, Young, James and Roman had multi-year careers.

Saban/Muschamp DC with Kirby as DB coach what an unfair staff, would’ve been almost impossible for us to not win a NC

This is exactly why Claiborne had such a hard time early in the pros. While he was a stud, Logan, Mingo, Brockers were men among boys.
