They are slow walking it because they do not want to "fire" Canada. They want everyone to be able to save face by him getting picked up somewhere.

I don't want Sark either. Go read. He and and Saban had already decided to go separate ways due to disagreements. It apparently wasn't just to go the NFL. Before you call somebody a dumbass, get your info right.

Bama fans always say it was a mutual decision when someone leaves. Either way I think it would be a solid hire. I just think that Alleva is so scared of baggage that guys like briles and Sark would get axed by him. He truly is the worst AD ever. This has been a cluster faaak since 2015.

who does O want, why would O want him, does this guy have the juice to justify moving Canada out after 1 year, etc.
Sark, like him or not, has the ties to O, has the "USC offense" that O has hinted of, and likely would be a big enough name that some in power would say ok to letting Canada go.
You don't move out your not-a-disaster OC for just anyone, you have to figure there is somebody O had in mind, that he thought was becoming available.
The rumors of Sark being axed started to clarify at about the same time the rumors of Canada being gone started in earnest. I think O was setting the table for him.
Sark now is in continued employment, and if Atlanta makes a run in the postseason, is likely retained. And suddenly, you find confusion here- is Canada REALLY gone? Is it Briles? Freeze?
Are we about to pull the same shite we did with Miles, but on the OC level- fire a dude and then start looking to replace him?
They may be idiots and are doing exactly that (again), but I have to think there was somebody they wanted and thought they could get, before all this shite started.
