I hope you weren't the one to break the news to him (ala Mike Archer, but you were up North then).

Naaa...Nicholls was horrendous this year. They just beat a SLU team that quit after losing to SFA for chance to go to playoffs for first time in school history..they mailed it in last night.
Nicholls was horrendous.

I heard they fired The Head Coach, Offensive Line Coach, and Offensive Coordinator only.
All other coaches still have jobs.
I heard the 3 coaches that were fired were all coaches who coached under Daryl Daye back in the day when he was at Nicholls before Jay Thomas was hired when Daye was fired. All coaches who kept their jobs had no ties to Nicholls before.
Interesting, worthless piece of info I thought I would share.

How much do you think the HC could possibly make at Nicholls?
Id say 70K Max?
If thats the case they need some young, up and comer that will work for pretty much nothing to use Nicholls as a stepping stone for himself.
Any other thoughts?

I think I read that the job paid 90k.

They will hire the son of Sonny Jackson. He has been there working on this for a while. Nicholls had no funds for recruiting and did not hire coaches to fill positions until a couple of weeks before the season. The AD is the worst example of a rep for athletes. The U does not care about win/loss. Just want a team. Sad case!

will Nichols be team players and like Northwestern and hire Crowton?

Please expound on this

Before the season got started the family was out looking for property and told that Hud would be the next coach at Nicholls. Word got around. Sonny has worked the Colonels Club and has kept things in an uproar. The AD and VP are known liars and that makes it so very difficult to find out the truth. But, it is true, they did not like any of the old crew. They thought they were the cause of their unpopularity. Daye was so loved by the fans and people of Thibodaux.

I don't think very many people saw it, I went and watched the Nicholls McNeese game, there were very few people at that game for Nicholls. McNeese easily had twice as many people there. I went a few years ago when Nicholls and McNeese played for the conference championship and it was pretty packed.
Also, why does Nicholls schedule their games during the day?

This year and last was because of hurricane Gustav damaging the lights. Usually there are a few night games such as McNeese. They weren't sure they would have lights when they were creating the schedule so to be safe they scheduled them all for 1pm

Ah, alright, that makes sense. I know McNeese always schedules 7 p.m. home games. They played a 6 against Southeastern and it wasn't announced very well, half the crowd didn't show up til halftime.
