I would think Wilson would have some WR coaching responsibility, since he has experience there.

Id be totally ok with Monken but I doubt Boone wouldnt offer him a ton of money to stay.
Id be in favor of Lawrence Dawsey at FSU. Hes a hell of a recruiter in Florida.

If Les decides to hold on to Wilkerson as OL coach then I'm good with that. Everything I've heard indicates he has a bright future as a coach and he only has limited time as a GA so if Les wants to keep him then that's good. I just hope he can resonate with recruits. We need another top notch recruiter bad. We do fine but we can do better. WRs are not hard to coach. Most wr coaches are hired recruiters for that reason.
We have to think about realistic candidates. Why would Dawsey leave his home state and alma mater in a lateral move? FSU isn't that far from competing for national titles. They just need to get past the Jimbo era before it will happen. They are recruiting SEC level talent there.

I hope to god this isn't true. WR is too important of a position to allow someone to coach without experience. Holy shite. Has Les not learned his lesson with QBs? Unless he just plans to use them as blockers. Otherwise they'll be running down the field with their hands waving in the air not knowing wtf to do. Fire Ensminger and get a gd WR coach...that simple. Who cares about TEs having a devoted position coach?
But to be honest, it seems very Les Miles like to do exactly that. Squander the opportunity to get a elite recruiter/coach at a major position of need. All while his TE coach sits on the staff and nobody knows what he does.

Not only no, but frick no. I want lSU to improve not get worse. The man can recruit, but sucks completely as a coach and staff member.
Porter coaches RB's, not WR's.

Nothing against Wilkerson, I'm sure that he has a bright future as a coach, but if that is truly what we do, i predict that well see major offensive coaching overhaul next year and possibly ruin our chance at a NC.
This would mean that our offensive staff consists of Stud (not even close to a proven OC), Wilkerson (who's already on staff. We gain nothing by hiring him as OL coach. Get him to stay I guess, but we have Stud), Ensminger (why do we need a TEs coach when we don't have a WR coach?), Frank Wilson (good coach but large recruiting plate, only major recruiter on offensive staff), and Kragthorpe (great QB coach, but illness coud halt him).
With the probavble turnover on the offense: New QB, 3 WRs possibly gone, we could be in trouble.
I'm getting nervous. A lot goes in to the WR position, and we have a bunch of young guys who need to gel with a new QB quickly.
This eerily reminds me of Malveto. Coordinating by committee does not work as well as RBbyC

Cut ensminger loose. Hire major applewhite. He's a co-off coord on a sinking ship at Texas. He can handle rbs/tes. Wilson wrs. Ben can handle the line or get fanaca or mawae to come in.

Hardly any colleges have "floating" offensive coordinators, because of the full time coaching limit. If you were to get rid of Ensminger, let Stud coach the TE's get new o-line and WR's coach. Make sure you find a really good WR coach, maybe a Tyke Tolbert or Adam Henry type and let their passing game coordinators title really mean something. In a multiple offense the TE's do need their own position coach.

I vote no for Kragdrawa as WR coach.
Tolbert is the guy we want.

Thinking outside the box but what about the young offensive assistant for the Saints that helps with WRs. Name escapes me and I'm on my phone.

I just want a coach that can recruit like hell.

i wish we could get monken, wont happen though. He won't take a demotion for the same position he had here when he left. He is a GREAT coach though. He would be to the offense what ron cooper is to the defense.

Perfect recruiting area. Does he want to get back to college? Doubt he takes a pay cut.
With McKenzie running the show now in Oakland and with the uncertainty of who the next Raiders HC is gonna be or the chances that anyone will be retained under a new staff, I'd think Henry would jump at a chance for job security closer to home.

I'd like to see Jay Paterno on the staff at LSU. He's a proven QB coach and has coached the WR's before.
Daryl Clark and Michael Robinson had similar skill sets as JJ but DC and MR turned out to be all big ten QB's. He puts the players in positions to succeed utilizing their strengths.

Burns would be a good hire from Bama. Move Wilson to WR coach. That would be great chemistry on the staff too. I doubt he'd take a lateral move though.
