OU's AD is also likely going to Michigan which I believe will also impact Stoops decision. There's a strory around OU from way back that one of Stoops kids was concieved while he was watching a Notre Dame victory on TV lol.

isn't Stoops and the current AD (Castiglione) pretty tight? i read somewhere that the AD may be on the short list for the Michigan AD's job. Martin is retiring at Michigan. i think.

Yes Castiglione is a very possible candidate at Michigan. I have been saying Stoops was gone for ND for about a month but you guys don't want to listen.

Actually makes perfect sense to me given that Notre Dame will pay him 5 mil a year and give him a 7 to 10 year contract.
Helluva way to ride off into the sunset on a coaching career ....

A ten year run is about max in one spot these days
Spurrier went 12 at this alma mater..
the Bowdens and Joe Paws of the coaching world are all but done for good

Every game on national tv, bigger stadium, more $$$, don't have to share bowl revenues, Stoops is a devout Catholic and has been huge ND fan growing up. Yeah it makes no sense.

ESPN is pseudo-running with this.

Listening to ESPN radio about 1-1/2 hr ago...stated Adam Schefter is on it as well and basically repeated what was on Bleacher Report earlier today (what SEC Ranter posted).
