Usual suspects posting garbage claiming Napier not qualified, etc.

Someone please explain to me exactly what qualification to be a head coach Aranda had when he was hired by Baylor… that Napier doesn’t have more of?

For that matter, why was Kiffin a better HC choice when hired at Old Miss in 2019 than Napier today? Same applies to half the young coaches in the SEC… what made them a better prospect than 2021 Napier?

Napier was several positions coaches at Alabama, was OC of year at AzSt, etc., and has built recruited and head-coached a Uber-successfully program at UL starting with dregs. Aranda had never been a head coach anywhere. So why does anyone think Aranda’s resume in 2020 was better than Napier’s today?

I don’t really care… would actually rather Napier went to USCw or even Florida. Just have trouble understanding the LUSer mindset.

I honestly do not know...We're chomping at the bits for Napier in these parts, if you look at his resume in totality, it looks great...I'm actually really happy it seems like LSU folks don't want him, maybe woodward will listen...We'd love to have Nape in Gainesville.

Instead of posting emojis like a 15 year old, why don’t you try to answer the question? Go ahead, give it a try… I’d like to see some of you actually have to think instead of just reacting like sheep.

But, you might find that you can’t … which might mess up a lot of baaaing sheep’s comfort zones.

Aranda was easily one of the best DC in all of football for a long time. Super intelligent.

Kiffin is one of the best minds offensively in college football. Super intelligent/a little immature

Napier was a terrible OC at multiple stops

It’s insane to not know this. Napier has proven nothing to this point with the exception of being a solid recruiter.

Yep, and you can honestly say that you’ve easily had substantially worse hires than we have too. Maybe y’all just try a different route.

Kiffin is more proven and a better coach than both Napier and Aranda.. people just don’t like him.

I do.

WTF? Are you serious? This may be the most unresearched erroneous crap if ever seen. Lookie here Boudreaux, deal with truth, not your made-up propaganda.

Fine…but I specified WHEN HE WAS HIRED BY OLE MISS, not “is” but “was.”

Unlike either of them, Napier is a proven program builder and head coach as well as a proven offensive mind (see at Alabama and AzSt… ). I’m pretty sure I remember lots of people thought Ole Miss and Baylor were rolling the dice…

But

I’ve always liked Kiffin. I would rather have him or Aranda and it’s not even close.

I’m not a fan of Napier until he better proves himself. I expect more for our program. I am fully confident Scotty does as well.

You made a comment earlier attacking a guy that used an emoji, yet you respond like this?

Believe what you will it’s of no consequence. I’m not the idiot asking the questions you asked.

I like Billy and would be happy with either.

That said, all I got is: a) Dave as a DC at Wisky and LSU assumed greater responsibilities than Billy has at any of his stops and b) Dave has never been demoted or fired (to my knowledge).

Then he had a successful year running the offense at ASU after a stint with Bama before he got hired at ULL.

Two of his three years as an OC were successful, one was record setting.

He was involved in winning a national championship. His team this year looks really good.

I'm not saying Napier isn't talented but Aranda has a better resume.

I'd take him over Napier.

It's nothing personal towards the guy. I think he'd be down the list.

I just don't like the idea of him coming to LSU to learn how it is to coach in the SEC and figure it out as he goes.

Agree, it's much too risky of an "experiment" for us. We trying to become the dynasty we should've already been.

He was not a full-fledged OC at Clemson. He only assisted Dabo in Play-calling. So you can't claim it was all him. Just like you can't say all the players he recruited while at Alabama were all him because he had Alabama's recruiting machine helping and Saban acting as closer. His only other OC stop was in Arizona in 2017. That team finished 7-5 and was ranked 67th in offense.

Edit: The year prior to Napier's arrival as OC (2016) they were ranked 16th, and the year after Napier left (2018) they finished 12th.

That's kinda where I am.

I think he's a good coach but I can't see Woodward hiring him unless he's exhausted all his other higher choices.

It would be more of an experiment, kinda like Tennessee has done and I don't think anyone wants that.

Again, nothing personal towards the guy but let him be a HC at a P5 school first and figure out how he wants to coach. Not figure it out as he goes.

Perhaps a better question is why would Aranda leave Baylor?

Baylor may be happy with 9 win seasons. Also they are a private university with a smaller fan base without the demand for championships. They can pay him without publicity on total contract.

It may come down to his wife's opinion of which city gives a better family type lifestyle. She has lived in BR and now in Waco.

Aranda may prefer being a large frog in a small pond.
