Last three years he's gone 11-3, 10-1, 11-1. Before that UL had never had a 10 win season. I was there when ESPN had the Bottom 10 rankings and UL was on it every week for years and years. He's out-recruited Tulane and LaTech and for the past 2 season has been the only team from Louisiana that was ranked by seasons end. Now you tell me

He done a fine job (no one is saying otherwise) but not a fricking "miracle."

If you talk to him, tell him to stop begging for the LSU job. His middle school student government politics won’t work.

Some of the same people claiming no one knows shite and the self-proclaimed sources on here are bogus are the same ones believing these rumors of Napier begging, trying to back Woodward into a corner and playing politics.

Exactly the inconsistent evaluation of Napier here. Because it fits a particular narrative for some of you.

I’ll say it again, not all of us who like Napier think he’s the #1 choice over Riley, Aranda, etc. But we know enough to read the coaching landscape, the interest every year from upper end P5 teams, and the man’s coaching accomplishments to see he’s a viable candidate should LSU choose to go that way.

If you’re at the point of hiring Napier you should just hire Kiffin

Considering we got bent over again in a coaching search miles well go down to the bottom and give Napier a shot. Not exactly a bad consolation prize as a backup plan.

LSU can't stop getting out of their own way in coaching searches. This university is a mess. If they keep whiffing Napier, Aranda, whoever is going to middle finger you as not to wait around. Should've had a plan in place if he didn't have a dotted line signed. If they really did tell recruits Riley was the guy I will .

Maybe so, but the fact that the U-la-la coach even got a mention on this board, much less being strongly considered as the hire is a miracle in itself. My opinion anyway.

Y’all are acting like he’s entitled to the job just because he’s an hour away and he wants it.

Why? I think Napier is a far more qualified candidate

Valid opinion. I just think Kiffin is too volatile a pick for LSU because of all the extraneous things happening around the program. However, personally if LSU hires him I’ll be excited about the prospect.

Don't short-change everyone involved with that school for building up their athletic department into one of significance. The past for ULL is as meaningless as pre-2000 LSU football when it comes to what they are now. Money, support and the state of Louisiana's football talent base make that a top-tier G5 job.

His coaching resume pales in comparison to Napier’s IMO.

More like it seems to be he's the only one who actually wants it and if you keep ignoring him, he's going to go elsewhere when he gets tired of calling.

What part?

The also being ranked at a sun belt program?

Or the part where he took an actual shitbin program (Charleston southern) to FCS playoffs and conference titles multiple years in a row?

He doesn't clap like Les miles so I can see the issue

The RCAF has a huge role in all of that as far as the money goes. I believe that was started in the Hud years. But make no mistake, Napier has really transformed this program into a top tier G5 organization from the top down. Look at Lourdes' donation for the stadium upgrades. They could have done that 20 yrs ago, but not until Napier was the coach. It's a whole different feeling than before. They gave him complete control of the program and look at it now. His genius goes well beyond what you see on the field.

Ed wanted the job and had locally ties. Media pumped him up just like Napier. Not falling for it again.

Zero chance he’s the only one that wants the job.

Napier vs Chadwell

You do realize that CC is the highest level of football Chadwell has coached, right? See link if you want my previous response to Napier vs Chadwell. But be warned it’s not gonna support your position very well.
