Kiffin is at least REALLY highly regarded as an offensive mind.

100% agree. But we’re looking for a guy who can build and run a big time program. Kiffin hasn’t shown he can do that, he’s jumped around a lot.

I don’t doubt Napier is good at selling people on his vision, he’d definitely be an improvement over O.

Well Napier hasn’t shown that either

At least with Lane I know we’re getting a guy that can develop QBs and put together a damn good offense. Maybe Napier can too but the body of work doesn’t show that yet

So, who is "the sure thing?" I'll hang up and wait

There’s a book called “The Score Takes Care of Itself”. It is the autobiography of none other than William Earnest “Bill” Walsh. None of these guys including Saban invented shite. Other coaches did it before them like Paul Brown.

Go read it. You’ll learn things like the West Coast offense if from freaking Cincinnati. Really interesting facts about HOW it was actually started and WHO spotted the opportunity to take advantage of movement.
As far as I'm concerned the only real innovators (not inventors mind you) in that era were Bill Walsh and Sam Wyche.

Guys like Brown invented it, Walsh and Wyche molded it, the rest just added on to their innovations.

I'd prefer Kiff if we were hiring an OC. But Napier definitely seems to have his shite together running an entire program versus Orgeron Jr who's also a good OC.

He also said he loves to recruit. Said it is almost as fun as game day. The more I hear this guy the more I like him.

Kiffin is a proven great offensive mind / QB developer and probably the most advanced P5 coach in terms of understanding decision making analytics. Also a great troll.

But you're kidding yourself if you think Woodward overlooks all his baggage. This program needs a good culture builder to stabilize everything. That's part of the appeal of Napier or even Rhule for that matter.

Also, why do people gloss over the fact that he failed pretty spectacularly at an elite program with plenty of talent and other advantages?
