Everyone but Riley, Aranda, Fickell, Kelly. (And the pipe dreams like Urban and Saban)

Swing and miss on those, and Napier is the clear favorite.

Over...M Stoops, Cristobal, others...

You’re probably right. But a word of warning:

Neal Brown at Troy did exactly what Napier has done at ULL, but even better.

Now look at him at WVU. This highlights the risk. G5 success isn’t any guarantee to transfer to P5 success.

Neal had never been apart of a real big program only UK and ttu. Also was never a recruiter and won by having the air raid offense. And he was impatient on his choose of p5 job. Napier is pretty much the opposite.

I would take Napier before Kelly... Kelly has never impressed me.

I don't disagree with that I just don't want it to come to this.

The winningest coach in ND history has never impressed you, but the current coach at ULL has?

The losingest coach in ND history isn't suspect to you but the current coach at ULL is?

See how that works.

But in reality the ND program winning percentage is .728. Kelly's is .729. Every coach with 11 or more years there has a better win percentage. 15 of the other 30 coaches there had better winning percentages.

Coaches with 11 years or more at ND.

Knute Rockne 13 years 105–12–5 .881 NC 1924, 1929, 1930
Frank Leahy 11 years 87–11–9 .855 NC 1943, 1946, 1947, 1949
Ara Parseghian 11 years 95–17–4 .836 NC 1966, 1973
Lou Holtz 11 years 100–30–2 .765 NC 1988
Brian Kelly 11 years 106-39 .729 NC - none

ND 133 seasons 918–329–42 .728

Kelly is a good coach, but he isn't the guy they will ever talk about as one of the great coaches at Notre Dame unless he wins a NC.
