I just don't understand the Calloway to OC people.

The guy has never proven himself at a high level.

The OC at Kansas, Brent Dearmon, had a high powered offense at a lower level and hasn't done shite in the BigXII.

quote:

Dearmon came to KU fresh off a one-year head coaching stint where he produced the nation’s highest-scoring offense at any level in 2018. In his one season leading his alma mater, Bethel University, Dearmon guided the Wildcats to their best season in school history. BU posted a 10-0 regular season mark and a No. 3 ranking, while averaging 540.3 yards and a nation’s best 55.0 points per game, the highest scoring offense not just in NAIA, but in all of college football.

Why is the Tight ends coach necessary? Why can't the tight ends work half the time with the offensive line coach and the other half the time with the wide receivers coach?

Sure, but where would you put the other coach if not at TE? We’re certainly not going to eliminate a spot and go with any less than the maximum number—you’ve got to fill them all for recruiting at the very least. Plus, besides like Cregg, Faulk, and Raymond, I think a lot of these designations don’t mean much. I think it’s been pretty fluid since Sullivan came in as PGC and Busch came to coach safeties. I imagine there’s a lot of overlap regarding duties.

You think the talent at Kansas may have been an issue?

You can give all the examples you want to prove your point of view. There are plenty of other examples to prove the opposite.

Mike Yurcich was a D3 coordinator before Oklahoma State and he did great and then went to Ohio State and now Texas.

The fact is that people are different and situations are different.

Why do yall want calloway as oc?

Because the rant believes the only successful coaches are the one’s who can’t grow hair on their balls.

No doubt - we aren't Oklahoma St. We hire guys from Oklahoma State.

Let them go prove it at a bigger school.

We can go get someone already proven.

After learning a bit more about Freeman, I’m very intrigued. I have a feeling he’d kill it in recruiting

He’s making $600k now so it’d probably take $1.5-2mil to pry him away.

Can we? We just shitcanned an entire staff in the same calendar year as capping off the best college football season of all time. How many proven guys are lining up to come here with that kind of job security?

We can - I just don’t know if O will.

To your point, we just proved we can win a National Championship. It’s not all bad down here either.

If Callaway doesn’t move to an on-field role, whether it be position coach, OC or PGC, I don’t see him staying. I would put money on it that he’s getting plenty of offers from other programs already

Callaway is already on the field. He’s been on the sideline with a headset every game. Just like Munoz last year.

True but having the title and the salary that goes along with it is a different story
